any ideas or tips?

i want to use one part of a project into 7 other iterations of this project

more specifically, this consists of a few audio streams that i want to incorporate into other project(s) which also consist of lots of audio streams

i don't want to do the same 'work' like 7 times obviously

You can use composer presets:
Composer options button (bit at the right of the tempo display) -> Presets -> Save + Open.
It are .MuComposer files.

can i (lasso) select part of a project and then save as composer preset?

Not directly.
But one workaround:

Select all clips
Unselect the ones you want to save
Delete clips
Export as MuComposer preset file.
Undo

Another workaround: Save the entire composition and delete the unwanted clips from the loaded MuComposer preset file.
