Which "MDrummer" Soundbanks are actually usable (and/or needed?) with MSoundFactoryLE?

Hello,
I am a happy MSoundFactoryLE user, but I see that there are many drum soundbanks available, like the Tornado, ElectronicGenres, MDrummer Essentials and so on; but I would like to avoid downloading and installing sounds I cannot use, and I don't have MDrummer so I'm interested in understanding which of the mentioned soundbanks and addons are actually usable and/or needed with MSoundFactoryLE.
In the Melda website for many of them, this text is shown:
" <add on name> requires MDrummer or MSoundFactory to work."
Honestly, this does not help very much to figure it out.
Any detail on that would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mario

Adding... if I deselect "MDrummer" in the plugin manager - soundbank section - then MDrummer Essentials is ghosted, but then why when I installed SoundFactory through the Plugin Manager a message appeared stating that MDrummer Essentials is needed in MSoundFactory and prompted to install it directly... so the confusion increases....?
Thanks,
Mario
Thanks,
Mario

You need MDrummerEssentials and MSoundFactoryEssentials. Then you can install additional MSoundFactory addons (instruments) as you like.
There used to be some MSoundFactory instruments that needed additional MDrummer packs, but I think they have been changed.

Hi, Mario. You may have figured this out by now, but IIRC, there was no point in downloading any of the MDrummer add-ons for MSoundFactory if you have LE since there were no MDrummer instruments included.
I think it's possible for someone to make an MDrummer "product" using an addon and share it/sell it for use with MSoundFactoryEssentials or LE, but I have not seen this in practice.

Are the MSF instruments that require MDrummerEssentials listed somewhere? If not, would you be kind enough to list them?jmg8 wrote: Mon Jun 30, 2025 8:09 am Some of the instruments in MSF use samples from both the Essentials packs. If you download those two, all instruments should load correctly.

No worries, Jason. I appreciate the reply.
It would be nice to know so users can decide if they want to use that GB of disk space for those few instruments. It may seem trivial, but a gigabyte here, a gigabyte there, and before you know it, you're in the red.
