Does Bitwig seem like a daw that very few people want? Kind of a rant I guess.

For me its the most cpu intensive daw that there is. There is no way to change the theme, and their upgrade system seems like a rip off. You buy Bitwig and within one year you have to buy the upgrade. Most daws you buy version x.0 and you get all updates until z.0

It also seems like no one wants Studio One either. I dont know much about it other than it other than it became confusing af after version 2.0

Just venting I guess.
I checked your post. You're asking to trade Bitwig for stuff like obsolete and boxed software that few people are likely to have. You've also only waited a few days. It's not surprising you don't have any offers yet.
More specifically. I think that you will find few owners of Guitar Rig 7 who aren't also Komplete owners. With respect to Reason 3.0-5.0 in a box, that's a bit tougher because people hold on to those. I'm not saying that there aren't copies out there, but you will need to be patient. I have Reason 5.0 in a box, no, you can't have it. In some ways, that's one of the best versions of Reason. No online activation, installs straight from CD, no audio recording, has the new sequencer, but doesn't have the bloat of the new tools. I used to install it on my work machines so that when I was traveling I could relax and create in the hotel room.

Also there's a sale on right now. Upgrade from 8-track is $259.
Yes all of the points you raise about the old boxed version of Reason are great points. The only thing I dont agree with is that I cant have it.

ARE YOU SURE I CANT HAVE IT!

I will throw in some shit plug ins from plug in boutique. JK

my reason 5 boxed, is landfill now i think? was a doorstop for a while.

Yeah, sorry, but, there's light at the end of the tunnel. It sounds like you can have vurt's copy for FREE! You just need to find it.

Your targets for a trade are limiting. If you wait long enough you will likely get what you want. Selling it (as suggested already) is a good idea.

Pro tools, Cubase, and Studio One are good names imo, as is Digital Performer, Sonar was good, too.
Fruity Loops and FL Studio, Bitwig and Reaper (even though it's an acronym, and i use it) are just silly.
Reason, Live, and Logic are really stupid by virtue of being vague.
I am extremely annoyed with Live, using it for, umm, live performance. Admittedly, it was originally designed as a loop player and i use it as a midi control center (VST) and looper. Still, it has had plenty of time to mature. Stupid name or not i have considered getting Bitwig.

Digital Performer was originally just named Performer, and was a MIDI sequencer. The Digital part was added when the software gained the ability to play and manipulate digital audio via processing hardware (Digidesign's Audiomedia PCI cards.)

Reason has got to be the most stupid of them all. Impossible to search for without getting a lot of noise. In the past you could at least add "Propellerhead" before it. But of course, they had to go and change the company name to something just as generic.

Live is also a dumb name for searchability. But everybody just calls it Ableton anyway so that makes it easy to find what you'e looking for.

So I don't mind Bitwig at all. Makes it easy to find what you're looking for when you need help. So a tip to those who's making the next big DAW, make the name unique!

Bitwig is a fantastic DAW. In many ways the most fluid music making experience using a computer.

As a company they definitely lack some sales and marketing, which is a shame as they are up against some huge DAW userbases from companies that probably have much larger budgets.

I have already agreed a trade with OP for Reason, so they didn't have to wait too long.

Studio One becomes an awkward name, as soon as you put a version number behind it, Studio One 2 (two)..

Bitwig is a great DAW, hands down! ;)

If its got no upgrades left its worth $50.

Ill give you $20 for the name prejudice. Lefties are so inconcistent

I bought Bitwig when it was first released, but never really gelled with it. Then I upgraded somewhere along the way after a few major upgrades, then still never really gelled with it, so I sold it. It has some unique features and workflow, so I can certainly see why it appeals to some people, I'm just not one of them.

if this is an experience with the 5.10 version on macOS, then there was a bug which was fixed in 5.11 regarding CPU load. Otherwise I don't know what you are having trouble with CPU wise, runs smooth here.

Yeah I noticed after I upgraded that it became less cpu hungry. Im still going to trade it though.

Im in the process of transferring the license right now for an old version of Reason that wont even run on my computer :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: I can use it on an older mac and windows laptop that I have laying around. I think it will be fun to revisit the past.
