OT Audition: fx param automation?

thought i'd post this here since there seem to be a few tracktion+audition users.

Im trying the audition demo. In the multitrack view, i'd like to automate the parameters of a vst effect i've added to one of the tracks. I can't figure out how to access the mode that will allow me to draw automation curves (i have 'show fx param envelopes' and 'edit envelopes' buttons activated.. but am still no wiser as to how i can begin drawing/assigning envelopes).

The help pages repeatedly say that it's possible to automate fx params without explaining how

I believe that you can only draw automation curves for track volum, pan, and the Wet/Dry mix of real-time track effects, and not for specific VST parameters. There are just a couple of "dynamic" effects within Audition itself that allow for more involved parameter automation.

I'm hoping this is something that Adobe will improve in v.2.

As a general rule though, it is in cases where I want track based automation of VST parameters that I would use Tracktion as the main working environment and have Audition set up as designated external audio editor. In some multitrack audio only pieces I can work directly in AA's multitrack view, because automation isn't an issue.
