Not sure, if this question was already asked. Will it be possible to use presets created in Zebralette 3 (Beta 2 version) later in Zebra 3 when it‘s released? Thanks!

Yes, with some restrictions. The effects are not the same, Zebra 3 has different reverbs and delays. Zebra 3 also has different LFOs and a different voice management. We'll try to match those as well as it gets, but we can't promise it'll be 1:1

Oscillator, MSEG and envelope will be close to 100% identical though.

Thanks for the feedback and best success in further Zebra 3 development!

Thank you!

I think today Zebra 3 made the leap from Alpha to Beta. So as we're transitioning from feature creations to bug fixing and polishing, we'll also tackle the left over issues in Zebralette 3, coming closer to a final release here, too.

Huge and great news! Congratulations on getting to beta!

Oh, dang, this is very exciting indeed! Congrats on that massive milestone for sure!
I can't remember ever having been on the edge of my seat for a release like this one, seriously. :hyper:

It's still very far from public beta though ;)

Clearly we shall know what part of my body will ache most. :-? :hihi:

Hi. I uploaded an unlisted video showing two glitches that happened while filming. I'm unable to reproduce them but I let you know in case it means something to you.

Also, making this patch I notice that the behaviour of the PanMod Dpt is as follows:
PanMod Dpt -100 (Random) = more overall volume on the right
PanMod Dpt +100 (Random) = more overall volume on the left
Not sure if it's user error, or the intended behaviour and you're supposed to compensate with the Pan knob yourself, but I would prefer something more balanced to begin with, and then decide if you want to skew it.

Another non reproduceable thing, while in curve spectrum mode, double clicking on the keyboard didn't hold the note until restarted.

I'm in Cakewalk by Bandlab
Windows 10 64 bits
Audio interface: Komplete Audio 6

I had a lot of fun. The curve editors and everything in general is so comfortable and enjoyable and it sounds amazing. Thanks for your awesome work.

Another observation: clicking notes on the UI keyboard count as actions in the undo history. I was confused about why it didn't undo sometimes. That's why.

Post

Thanks for posting these issues.
I can confirm that double-clicking on a key gets added to the undo buffer. We already have this filed and will deal with it before the release.

I cannot confirm your random pan modulation issue. The random source seems to distribute quite evenly over time.

About your first issue shown in the video, we'll check that.
Generally, the sample import feature is still very experimental, not a stable feature yet.

About the stuck key shown in the video, how are you triggering the notes there? Are you using your computer keyboard to trigger them?
If this is the case, then the note gets stuck because a note is held on the keyboard while switching the focus from the plugin to the host (by clicking the FX bypass in Bandlab). When it loses the focus, it cannot receive the note-off command from the keyboard and thus, the key gets stuck.

Ok, yeah, the last one could be that. I can't reproduce it though. I was using the pads shown in the video to trigger the arpeggiator midi plugin (BlueARP) and BlueARP was triggering Zebralette. I've tried this way and triggering directly from pads to Zebralette, and enabling/disabling FX and no problems so far. Could be an unfortunate perfect timing...

Post

I think the panning has to do with the OSC FX applied. I'll continue testing and will inform if I find something interesting.

What I've been able to reproduce is one of the freezing scenarios.

That's a great find. I think I figured it out. It happens only if you move your mouse over the Osc/MSEG editor area right during the moment the GUI opens. In Sonar this will freeze the controls. In other hosts, the GUI will then stay white and crash shortly after.
Seems this happens only on Windows, and only when using the VST3 version.
Thanks a lot for reporting this. :tu:
