Soundtoys Plugins still not resizable?!?! "there are no plans currently to implement resizable GUIs for our plug-ins"

So just to make sure I don't mistakenly pay for an update, are you supposed to pay to go from the full Soundtoys 5.4.3 (which is the one I have now) to 5.5? There seems to be a promo where the update costs $19 so it's not a big deal, but it seems a bit odd you'd be required to pay for a point update.

I paid for the upgrade to get Spaceblender in Effect Rack. I’ve only had to pay for 2 upgrades in 10+ years so I’m happy to support them.

I agree with that, but I think in this case it’s mainly to add a new effect (SpaceBlender) to the effect rack. Which is why bundles owners pay to upgrade (as you only have the rack in that case) and single plugin owners do not.BeeDog wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 6:44 am There seems to be a promo where the update costs $19 so it's not a big deal, but it seems a bit odd you'd be required to pay for a point update.

i wonder if anyone who upgraded has encountered issues? im always kinda careful with upgrading recently, plugins crashing suddenly, not recalling presets in projects etc.

Makes sense, thanks. Checked my order history on the Soundtoys account page and it's not the first time I've done a paid point update, which I had forgotten. Purchased this one too because the tools have served me well.Morty-C-137 wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 9:02 amI agree with that, but I think in this case it’s mainly to add a new effect (SpaceBlender) to the effect rack. How are people getting it for $19 ? I have the full bundle + the 5.4 update which was the reverb (I was fine paying the $29 for this as it was definitely worth it) + spaceblender and it's $49, I don't object to paying but the pricing makes absolutely no f**king sense
Okay I figured it out, you need to click the "sync" button in your account to get Spaceblender to show up which then brings the price down to $19 which is what I'm happy to pay for the update

A PSA for anybody in the same situation wondering why

Thanks for the detail, this. all appears true.art&sound wrote: Tue Jul 22, 2025 9:47 pm
Blurry AF background, weird mix of high res and low res fonts, and all kinds of careless mistakes. Characters are being clipped (see bottom of BEATS, and the left size of DEPTH), the tops of the sliders are clipped (see top of output sliders). LED fonts are low-res but some others are rendered in high-res. The knobs look horrendous...

Background is blurry. You don’t read the background, mate, you read the foreground words which are unnaturally prominent,’if clipped in parts.
Great job by Soundtoys, we can still read the information on their plugins

Personally, I'm happy that they got the resizable plugins out of the door even if half of them are not crisp. I rather have them resizable now than waiting another 6-12 months or however long it will take - assuming that they will update the others as well going forward at some point.
