This is really toxic and it's no surprise many developers do not like to interact on kvr when this is what people say to them.

Most people who create audio software tools do so because they're passionate about it, not because it's a good way to make money. Audio industry is generally a terrible choice to make money, if you're a developer.

Rapid works fine for me and if there's an additional update, cool, great. I liked the teaser video and would like to try those features at some point, but if it needs more time, that's fine. I don't need those features and I bought the product and enjoyed it long before those features existed.

If the developer doesn't want to come here and apologize because there's already people dogpiling and insulting before the apology is even made, well, I'm not shocked by the developer staying silent at all. Running a small business and also doing contract work means your time gets divided up in unexpected ways and sometimes your original plans to get something across the finish line have to be put on hold. I've been there many times.

I agree with everything you say. But in business, communication is key. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those who complain, but I work with many customers, and if there's one thing that annoys them, it's lack of information. Customers can accept delays, as long as there's continuous communication.

Sure, I work in a completely different industry, but if we failed to inform our customers about delays, all hell could break loose. I'm sure most people are happy with the current state of Rapid and also aware that an update is coming, but it would be quite easy to drop a post if anything gets delayed.

I'm sure most people would understand that life can get in the way or that some bugs are just hard to fix.

I agree with you 1000% about COMMUNICATION to the customers.

Trouble is, we have been asking PARAWAVE for this for years now.

PARAWAVE continue to disappoint in this area!!!!!

A simple update - which could take a few minutes - PARAWAVE could NOT be bothered and do nothing about it !!!

ABSOLUTE MADNESS :( :( :(

I haven't been asking them that. I also wouldn't want to post here if I was being treated like that.

But, my friend, what I stated is the TRUTH !!!!

I disagree, great developers are those who choose to innovate, that doesn't require holding anyones hand through the process. Let these developers do what they are great at. The updates are coming whether you think they are, or not.

They have not let us down yet. Besides, if you we're busy producing with Rapid & making music, you wouldn't mind if they take as long as they need. The facts are what they are, they could literally stop now, and Rapid is and would still be King for alot of what many of us need in synthesis. It's a blessing that they continue to add more to it.

I could name several other companies who have not come close to delivering as well as Parawave does and always has, without the negative feedback.

Their last communication was on 22 April of this year:
parawave wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 1:20 pm The release of 1.9 will be postponed for a while. Not for a long time though.
So going on four months and nothing since and the last time that account visited KVR was June 9th.

So some people (including paying customers) just want to know what's going on. I don't think that's too much to ask. A couple of minutes here and there to give progress updates wouldn't kill them especially since they've been made aware on multiple occasions that their lack of communication is a concern to some users.

Failing to address those concerns just means they'll keep getting the same complaints. No sympathy for self inflicted wounds.

People care about the future because they love Rapid. Paraware (or any developer) should worry when people stop caring.

As I wrote 25 minutes after their last post (page 15):
Teksonik wrote: Tue Apr 22, 2025 1:45 pm I can wait for any update to Rapid. I'm just happy to see Parawave communicating here.

It gives me the confidence to use Rapid more frequently and since it is one of the top three synths in my rather extensive collection that's a very good thing...... :tu:
So yeah it would be nice to know what's going on....because I love Rapid. If I didn't I wouldn't care......

We can simulate it: "It's not done yet" followed by a bunch of unnecessary, entitled, irate replies. I would also just stay away from posting until it's done, considering how people are treating the developer.

I bought the product a while ago. I'm not entitled to free feature updates from the developer, because they didn't promise any. The developer doesn't owe me anything beyond the product remaining functional, not even news updates about progress of new features.

Seems like it doesn't do any good to announce an update in progress unless you are pretty confident you can deliver on it. I've seen people call u-he a trash developer because of the long wait for Zebra 3, despite them putting out some of the highest quality VSTs out there (imo).

Rapid is absolutely a great product as it is, but people were given a taste of some new developments with a fairly specific timeframe. That came and went, and I don't fault anyone for being a little salty as long as they aren't being disrespectful to the dev.

Maybe people should try and make their custom skin for it, then it will like an upgrade.

Their current business model doesn't seem to be working - they need to adapt and evolve, move fast and break things (just try different things out ) - hire sound designers - not just one guy - in fact, they will pay you 30% commissions. Open up your shop like reveal sound spire does. I guarantee this makes them way way more money in soundset sales than spire.

I understand the model isn't a success like nexus but that isn't the only successful model you can approach - look to reveal sound - this is key.

I have been surprised that there aren't more third party commerical banks for it.. I know you have a few, the other two banks I know of, are free banks.

Actually I think they have two sound designers... the developer René and of course Mirko..
But I am surprised Manuel or Big Tone etc haven't done any banks for this afaik.

As a preset mostly guy, I would even appreciate more sounds than features.

It's not very common, but I have seen it.

As for Rapid, people were told "hopefully by Easter." To be fair, that is not a promise by any means, but I was still disappointed when the date came and went.

At this point, the excitement for the update has left my mind. I had forgotten about it until this thread came up again.
