Right along the top of the red LED sections (time divisions, tap tempo, style) right along the top of the letters and numbers there are little dots. OLD LED display have little things like these and my guess it they are trying to emulate that aesthetic.

Yeah, it's possible they've always been there, but now that the GUI's are larger those dots I never noticed before [presumably] just stand out and look sloppy and seem to serve absolutely no purpose. It's a minor thing, but there's a lot of sloppy little minor things that in this latest update.

But hey, it's still an improvement over where we were before. Just not what I think a lot of folks would expect from a premium plugin company.

And I'd rather pay $19 to update once then have to sign up for a subscription/WUP as the company slowly trickles out updates. So I didn't mind paying the small fee. At $49, there's no way I would've updated. $19 - sure!

This is how you get your customer base to support you. $19 ? No problem. I can now fockin' read the GUI on my big-ass monitor without greasing up the screen with my nose.

They're great plugins for my work and now they're a bit better. Oh and btw, just use Reapers resampling per plugin if you're keen on it. If you're using Reaper.

$19. Yeah, I'd love some GUI improvements for clarity, but this is good. Thanks Soundtoys.
Will mix for fun

$19 seems reasonable to me for a maintenance update like this one. Stoked for the gui updates.

CLAP plugin support
Could you tell us more about why CLAP support is important to you? From a developer's standpoint, I get the appeal of a minimalist API that appears to be nicely designed - but I don't entirely understand yet why users would care about this, or what workflows or capabilities it would unlock.
Better multicore performance
Wider host support
Better integration in hosts like Bitwig in terms of modulation and preset browsing
Less buggy than VST3
The more developers get on board, the more sustainable the new format becomes

I think the $19 is to upgrade to the new Effects Rack. I clicked sync this morning and was able to download/use 5.5 without upgrading.

What's the SoundToys update policy ?
Free forever? Or until the next version, in this case v6?

Not free forever. The last two 5.x updates have been paid, which is a little unusual as they provided like 10 years of free updates (and even free plugins) to bundle owners since the release of Soundtoys 5.

5.4 was $40. 5.5 is $40 (currently discounted to $20). I'm not saying Soundtoys don't deserve to be compensated for all the years of updates, but I do wonder what people will say if 5.6 is another 40 dollars. Especially if people who have consistently paid for incremental updates at that point aren't offered a fairly generous upgrade price to v6 if/when it comes.

Not having oversampling in the year of the lord is not a nice look to have..

I have a very short list of 3 things.

1. Oversampling
2. Oversampling
3. OVERSAMPLING

Post

This comes to mind on top of what’s alredy been mentioned:
- gui update for plugins with a tweak section (diagram style), ex echoboy and tremolator
- multi band splitter for the rack
- ducker in echo boy, and a reverse delay
- autogain (not like in decapitator)
- more vanilla presets

New additions:
- something like speakerphone with weird speakers and devices
- a quirky tape/vinyl plugin with wobble, crackles and saturation
- still missing a flanger?
- rack is missing a more general type of compressor
- an expanded alterboy with more versatility
- a more experimental transient and sustain type tool

Oops! Wrong thread!

Nah, you're not the only one. I like the OG plugins GUIs. I can't relate to the people who complain about them.
