ok, now I'm really confused. What it appears from the last few posts,is that the upgrade, in my case for $19 only gives me a few new presets and that Spaceblender is now rackable.

I can't think that is right, I thought the main incentive to pay for the upgrade was for the GUI resizing.

I have the free Spaceblender licence and 5.4. The 5.5 update is shown as a download in my account, and seems to be fully functional when installed (including Spaceblender in rack etc.). I still see a $19 upgrade offer but don’t really understand what it’s for. Confusing indeed.

"Thanks for upgrading to Soundtoys 5.5! By choosing to upgrade, you’ll benefit from extended technical support, a lower upgrade price when moving from Soundtoys V5.5 to our next release (compared to upgrading from V5.4), and access to a collection of new presets included in the latest version.

We did prepare updated 5.5.2 installers for owners of earlier versions of the bundle who just wanted the bug fixes and UI resizing, but they won't receive the benefits above if they choose not to upgrade.

We understand there may be some confusion around pricing. Please know that updating and maintaining our plug-ins across various operating systems, DAWs, and machines takes real time and resources. At just $19, we believe this upgrade is an affordable way to extend support and fairly compensate our team for their work on this release.
Thanks for being part of the Soundtoys community!"

Not vibing with that answer. I bought the Soundtoys bundle back when it was expensive, and have bought every paid upgrade since. Unfortunately this one is half-baked; there are maybe 3-4 of the plugins that look sharp when resized. Why should I pay for incomplete work? And why should I be penalised (support-wise) for being observant of these facts and not “upgrading”?

Evidently, I’m more than happy to pay for updates and support the company if there’s value added. However, this update situation is a bit of an eff up imo. Incomplete.

Spot on, and the best summary of the current situation that I've read. Anyone who cares should be sending something like this to Soundtoys.

Why pay for extended technical support? Just make stuff that works. Soundtoys is as obsolete, as the systems they are still essential to. Everybody else moved on and probably found something better long time ago.

You get to use Space Blender in Effect Rack and resizeable UI. The latter was worth it for me.

Edit: Basseldon beat me to it.
Resizeable UI you can get for free.
Without upgrade.
Yeah, just sit closer to the screen.

escalona wrote: Sat Jul 26, 2025 12:32 amI can confirm. Resizable UI update is free. I own the bundle (since 2018, it was 5.2 last time I checked) and was able to download the 5.5 version and run it without problems (plugins are resizable, not hi-def graphics but it helps).
Thanks for clarification. :tu:

I can confirm. Minutes ago I was able for FREE to update Soundtoys V5 I paid once back in 2015. Now all my beloved Soundtoys plugins have a resizable UI. Latest, as we speak, version 5.5.2 is running here.

Liking Chop-r from Lobith Audio, will pick it up likely. Probably cover this with some other slicers,
since it's really pretty basic, but I like it.

Maybe I'll get it since my beloved Amigo is never getting stereo.
