that's looks cool! I like the way bitwig implement things like fx return track/modulation/native device fx chain building...that's just clever! can't wait for what bitwig 6 can give us in their clever way!

I believe the reason for the teaser is more mundane:
In the entire Bitwig history there have been only two "first half year" releases coming as late as July:
* 10 July 2019
* 14 July 2021
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitwig_St ... se_history
And none in August. Probably because it's a typical month of holidays in Germany (where the exact Summer school holidays change by land and by year). This year for instance "Sommerferien in Berlin: 24.07.2025 – 06.09.2025" (quite late!)
Therefore, I bet they just wanted to go quietly on vacation without having to deal with some kind of drama/speculation like "WHERE IS BITWIG 6 YOU JUST SKIPPED A RELEASE CYCLE YOU SHOULDN'T GET DISTRACTED RELEASING HARDWARE" or whatever. One post on social media setting expectations on a date and leaving the insiders wondering about new features based on half screenshot is a very cheap and effective move imho.
And I can start my holidays quietly too, knowing that no Bitwig release will come in the meantime.

What I think I see:
Linked clips and automation (clunky icon?)
Dark arranger background (themes?)
Small and large track height at the same time
Grid visible through clips
Automation visible/editable without the automation lane open
Nice to see long requested features getting implemented.

Having upgraded before for a beta though you end up loosing a large portion of your "update window", I would advise anyone trying to minimise money spent to wait before upgrading until 6 is fully released. I got bitten once. Obviously for people that just pay every year whatever this is not a problem.

Are those automation clips?
Also my eyes are going to be happy with the black arranger background.
For the people shouting "scales". Where do you base that on in the image?

I'm one of those nutters who usually keeps his upgrade plan active regardless. I'm definitely verging on Bitwig fanboy. It was annoying to me to see some recent promotions which would only get you benefits if you upgraded with another update plan, and I already had over a year of plan outstanding. I forget the actual details, but I ended up feeling a bit burned. So weirdly, I might wait a bit before applying the upgrade plan I've bought.
I don't usually install betas anyway. But thanks for all the input

It looks like a hybrid of the current system and automation clips. I’m guessing by default it functions like normal automation lanes but then you can select a chunk of automation to create a clip.
