"Call me paranoid if that makes you feel better"
It does and I love when paranoia enters the room, gets all offended when people aren't buying it, and then takes their ball and goes home with "well I am just warning everyone". Know what? Have some proof first.
"No other developer that I have done business with feels the need to data mine our systems. It's not a necessity, it's a choice by NI."
Proof please. Without that you look paranoid.
"but if anyone was to step out of their mom's basement for an half an hour and take a look at the world around us now they'd realize that caution and not blindly trusting any business is a logical and prudent course of action in this day and age."
In the world around us now? What has changed just recently that makes trusting a German company sending data back to a service in Germany somehow different? What has changed about NI? NTKDaemon has been around for several years at this point. Caution has always been prudent but you're choosing to take the tack of a conspiracy theorist which frankly is ridiculous. You're not being logical at all. And just to note haven't lived with Mom for about 4 decades (she's also in a nursing home so a bit difficult to live in her basement). I'm just not paranoid.
The one address it consistently hits, even with usage data turned off, is "ws.nas.native-cloud.com" hosted in Germany. Looks like a "heartbeat" given how small the payload is and how often it happens. Over 30 minutes its sent...6.5KB. CPU time and disk access is pretty much nil. Yeah there is a *ton* of mining happening. With data like that I'm not too concerned.
And again, the PM discussed this whole thing 2 years ago.

I love the sound of Massive X and have always wanted an interface update. But this looks like they are just adding a macro modulation tab and not actually addressing the terrible, wonky, outdated sound design aspect of the interface. Is that correct?

My soul is still crying about the unironic use of the term "cuckstomers".
People act like NI are some mega corporation like Amazon or Apple. Their annual revenue is something like $80mill. Not small change but also not much more than a rounding area in the grand scheme of capitalism. It would be utterly insane for them to be installing spyware on users systems.

I own massive X and installed Komplete Start hoping I’d get the player version. Is doesn’t show up in Native Access. Has anyone else experienced this and come up with a solution?

Ok I’ll try that. I thought I had but maybe I missed a step.

I have the same problem on my iMac because is an Intel system and it is not supported by the v1.6.0 Massive X. I can only run the v1.5.0 (Your issue may be something else...)Scotty wrote: Sat Aug 02, 2025 1:35 am I own massive X and installed Komplete Start hoping I’d get the player version. You just need to update Massive X - if you already have it the Player tab is built in - there is no separate Player for full ownersScotty wrote: Sat Aug 02, 2025 1:35 am I own massive X and installed Komplete Start hoping I’d get the player version. I have taken steps to protect my subversive Key signature modulations. I'm in the UK which is now more censored than North Korea...., so it's no joke......

Haha, I could adds TONS more to this list!Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:53 pmI disagree, I think they should see just how user unfriendly they can make it. They've outdone themselves in terms of removing useful standard features like automation, mousewheel/trackpad control, touch screen compatibility, aftertouch, user banks. I think they should take it even further and get rid of presets entirely and not even allow automation of the macros. And they should reduce it to two macros. No that's too many. Just one. And it should only go to half.Danilo Villanova wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:12 pm Please make the parameters mappable so I can control it with my encoders and tablet!!![]()

It should have been so much MORE though!EvilDragon wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 8:34 pmThat was the point of the release, to show life! MX will continue to be worked on.el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 1:17 pmIndeed! Despite falling short of user requests, it shows that MX is an ongoing concern.

+ decent browser that sees folders(!!!!), easier modulation (multiple assignments at once). MORE modulation slots!! A modulation matrix with curves/sidechains etc... More EFFECTS slots. Put some effects like EQ in A/B/C to free-up effects slots. An powerful arp and sequencer like the competition! Granular, samples, other interesting oscillators like many other modern synths. Preset descriptions, tags, categories, etc... I mean it's insane after all these years the user preset browser is a joke._leras wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 9:19 am I like massive X a lot.
Hopefully the serum 2 release, which finally caught up with OG Massive with 3 oscs and dual filters will be the kick in the balls NI needs to finally make Massive X into Massive 2.
3 oscs, dual filters, better LFOs, some big improvements to the steppers/sequence section and we'll be most of the way there.
Go 4 oscs, treble filters and make a Massive XX. Do it!
Having said that, the sound is very good. It's got it own "sound", it is a powerful wavetable (plus noise samples) synth. It's just that from the first release the design choices on Massive X have left me bewildered. Really hoping for that decent preset browser by 2030.

I can only guess that it's to make using "OUR" presets less fun, so buying "their" presets is easier/better. I can't think of another reason my they have done this.digitalboytn wrote: Mon Apr 07, 2025 11:21 pm I love the sound of Massive X,but the internal preset handling is pathetic...
So I've given up on that department and my presets are saved in Reaper and in VST3 format...
It's not a game changer,but it's a head shaker
Why couldn't they have just rolled out the same system they had in the original Massive ?
That one works great![]()
