GForce Oddity 3

Axxess sounds more analog, which seems a bit odd.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

Does anyone happen to know if Gforce updated or tweaked the sound since the original version of Oddity?
I realise of course that it's been upgraded with various features over the years but just curious if it's still running on the same underlying sound engine?
I have a strange sense of nostalgia for the original Gforce synths which I can't really explain!

It's "hostile" to signpost other KVR members to a relevant topic?whyterabbyt wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 8:58 amIronic.MrJubbly wrote: Tue Aug 05, 2025 9:39 pm I simply made an observation. You're are one who took exception with that, for some reason. Why so needlessly hostile?
What an awesome community.

Not intrinsically, obviously. But definitely in your case, here in this thread, that's where you went.MrJubbly wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 1:12 pm It's "hostile" to signpost other KVR members to a relevant topic?![]()
See, there you go again. What an awesome community.

Except, you both did respond in needlessly hostile ways. So pretty warranted, at least in reply to both of your responses.whyterabbyt wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 2:12 pmNot intrinsically, obviously. Apologies to any other non-hostile KVR members, to whom no offence was meant.

You didn't do that. You criticised a member, who just pointed out to the OP and anyone reading this thread that a cut-down, Oddity-like synth though not quite the same sound but with unison (which is the feature the OP wanted) is currently free-with-order at Audiodeluxe, for not posting in a different thread.MrJubbly wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 1:12 pm It's "hostile" to signpost other KVR members to a relevant topic?![]()
I then pointed out that you could post about the deal in that other thread if that's what you really want. To my knowledge, you still haven't done that and are simply sitting here arguing the toss over a few simple posts that have done no-one any harm. So I can only assume you are just looking for arguments and have no real interest in what you keep demanding. You don't think that's a bit weird? (Evidently not, as you're still doing the "I'm being oppressed, I'm being oppressed" thing).

They did change the sound engine. Basically, as I understand it, the portfolio got refreshed with DSP stuff they learned from doing the Oberheim SEM.grandmasterbird wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 12:23 pm Does anyone happen to know if Gforce updated or tweaked the sound since the original version of Oddity?

Thank you that's good to know. I guess things have come a long way since 2002, makes sense.Gamma-UT wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 5:09 pmThey did change the sound engine. Maybe I missed it, but I don't see in the write up where they said the sound engine has been improved or changed etc..

rspOddity3 takes the character and sound of Oddity and adds a wave of enhancements, bringing the spirit of the original to a new generation of music makers. With a powerful new Preset Browser and 1250+ presets including 250+ new ones, new Distortion and Reverb effects, a Vintage control for dialing in authentic imperfections, and four programmable Macros, plus new and improved performance controls, this classic desert island synth just got even better.

I played Oddity 3 for the first time in a while, as I hadn't used it much since upgrading.
I've been trying to reduce the number of synths I use regularly, but the fantastic bass sound of this synth doesn't seem to be easily reproduced by other synths.
I think I'll be using this synth more in the future. There are not many software synths that can be used for synth bass, but I've come to realise that this is one of the best.

Speedrum 2 is a hidden gem.
