Soundtoys Plugins still not resizable?!?! "there are no plans currently to implement resizable GUIs for our plug-ins"

You have the same graphics as everyone else. It has been widely observed and reported that those plugins did not get new, higher resolution graphics with the resize update. I even posted images of Little Radiator here that undeniably show they still have the same low-resolution graphics, despite being resizable. So you are either blind or living in denial, in willful, pollyana-like ignorant bliss.Gam456 wrote: Fri Aug 08, 2025 7:06 amI don't have any of these "issues" on a 32 4k monitor on Windows 11jamcat wrote: Thu Aug 07, 2025 3:43 pmNot fixed: low resolution graphics in PrimalTap, Radiator, Devil-Loc, MicroShift, Little Alter Boy, Sie-Q, Decapitator, EchoBoy, Crystallizer, FilterFreak, PhaseMistress, PanMan.

Yeah, it’s not the end of the world, but it’s not exactly what we were expecting with ‘resizable’ GUIs, either. It’s just mildly annoying to look at pixelated, zoomed-in ‘90s graphics in 2025. Soundtoys certainly could do better.
But anyone reporting ‘razor sharp’ graphics is either delusional or dishonest.

Compared to many others still not bothering (stares pixellated at Reaktor in despair) it's far better than 'nothing', especially considering how well (or not) both Windows and Mac decide to scale things at times.

It's easy to see on Decapitator for example on the thump, steep, and auto gain switches at larger sizes even if you have bad eyes.

Hopefully this was just an interim step to update the GUI framework and a larger modernization is planned for the future (i.e. potential SoundToys v6).

I was thinking that, too. I thought maybe Soundtoys wanted to prioritize GUI resizing and get that out as fast as possible first, then come back around with higher-resolution graphics later.
But then I thought, there are AI image upscalers that can very simply enlarge images without pixelation. Soundtoys could do it in an afternoon, if they wanted, no graphics person required. All they would need to do then is swap their internal resources and change maybe a couple lines of code with the new source dimensions.

Weird, look at my screen, I'm at 200% UI, and it looks smaller than yours

I think that has to do with Mac Retina vs. Windows.Gam456 wrote: Fri Aug 08, 2025 7:10 pm Weird, look at my screen, I'm at 200% UI, and it looks smaller than yours
But if you open both of our images and display them at 100% zoom, you'll see we both have the same pixelated low-res graphics. Your image is a little bit fuzzier than mine, either due to you using .jpg and me using .png, (most likely) or perhaps due to differences in how Windows vs Mac resample images.
There are other Soundtoys plugins that you can resize 200% and they are actually still hi-res: PhaseMistress, Little Plate, SpaceBlender...

Oops! I originally posted my reply in another, unrelated Soundtoys thread. Damn word-search!elxsound wrote: Sun Jul 27, 2025 9:25 pmNot telling you that it’s worth it to you, just that my understanding is the $19 is for new effects rack preset and space blender inside effects rack.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sun Jul 27, 2025 9:11 pm Yeah, in hindsight I could've gotten the update for free. I'm not sure why they're selling an update to a product people already own ("upgrade from that thing you've already got to that thing you've already got") so I basically blew $19 for no good reason. But in the grand scheme of things, it's not a lot of money and maybe it will encourage them to keep improving the UI's.
I doubt I will use that much, so I also look at the $19 as an encouragement/ thank you for the UI update.
Anyway, am I crazy to be on the fence about updating my individual licenses to the v5.5 bundle? I'm thinking it's too good to be true/fishy, hence why I'm combing through this thread to see if anyone else has the same scenario.
Account > Upgrade Offer > Soundtoys v5.5 Upgrade > $19. I trade-in a bunch of licenses, many of them acquired free over the last decade, but I will get FX rack (who really cares), Little Alterboy, Microshift, Sie-Q, PanMan, Crystallizer, Devil-Loc Deluxe, and Radiator (full). To me, that seems like a no-brainer, right?
Yeah, I won't have individual licenses for my wife to sell when I die, but all this stuff is pretty worthless anyway. After all, I wasted money (like someone previously mentioned) on PhaseMistress only for them to offer it for free.

Radiator, MicroShift and Devil-Loc Deluxe for $19 to me are definitely worth it. I love using the Little Alterboy plugin, but I know there are more alternatives for that one now.2:43AM wrote: Sat Aug 09, 2025 12:46 amOops! I think you got a good point. It's been a long time since I demoed Microshift, but I don't think it can be beat for its effect and simplicity. I'm a big fan of Little Radiator, so the full-blown version should be good. I don't recall if I was a Devil-Loc fan or not. Eh, what the hell, right?
