Maybe he will just release Vital2 out of nowhere. Just like Serum2.
Just speculating and knowing nothing.
I am happy with Vital1. Bug free and stable here. Sounds dope.

I use the chance to disgress a little and add my favorite quote from him:
"The upper class keeps all of the money, pays none of the taxes. The middle class pays all of the taxes, does all of the work. The poor are there...just to scare the shit out of the middle class."
But now back to the vital questions of life - synths!

It also happens in the Vital standalone app, outside the DAW.tumface wrote: Fri Aug 08, 2025 2:54 pm My guess would be that it's related to Vital being the first thing in the DAW or plugin host's process (since the application process was started) to create an HDR (with colorspace) D3D surface, causing Windows or the GPU driver and then the display to try switching desktop color space/depth modes to support the extended color range of the Vital window. Just a guess, and I don't know the exact reason.
For what it's worth, I have desktop HDR disabled in Windows, even though my display technically supports it, and I don't see this desktop blanking behavior in Vital.
You might have a point about the HDR colorspace / profile thing though. Since, it only happens the first time ... appearing to switch to still HDR but perhaps slightly duller / less contrast than the usual HDR mode?
If the Vital app is closed and then restarted, the blank screen no longer happens during that Windows session ... apparently, because Vital switched the Win 11 HDR mode to a compatible version the first time around.
Since, it doesn't happen for everyone. I might try uninstalling other HDR software, like Microsoft Gaming Bar, to see if that fixes the issue.

yeah a bit of dreaming for sure
But I believe he's silently cooking v2. I guess he's had enough of all the attention around Vital, and a zillion folks suddenly wanting something from him. The hype was really nuts, and he was very present on all platforms, for years. I remember I was often wondering how one could bear that 24/7, constantly. He probably couldn't go on this way and went into stealth mode.
And I guess at some point he realized it makes way more sense to start working on a v2, instead of slapping more features/improvements/fixes onto v1 (possibly going along with rewriting huge portions of the code, etc).
It's not like Vital is a buggy farce. Sure there's people having issues with it, but probably the vast majority of users (like me) is running Vital wihout any problems.

I guess Vital 3 will be released before V2 somewhat in the near future.

That doesn't make any sense v2 comes before v3.El°HYM wrote: Sat Aug 09, 2025 10:44 am I guess Vital 3 will be released before V2 somewhat in the near future.
This is basic math.

From this interview: Matt Tytel from Vital Audio
Is Vital already using it? (Visage, his new UI library)
It's using the precursor to it. I separated all the UI stuff and I reimplemented some things. I have a test plugin I'm working on. But I probably want to get back into actual plugin development. I'll probably port Vital to it and then work on my next project, which is kind of on the back burner right now.
Is the next project a secret?
I mean, it's not secret, but it's — yeah, I'll keep it secret.
You should!
I don't even know if I'm going to finish it, just playing around with things. But it's starting to take form.
Is it another synth, can you say that?
Yeah, it's another synth. I'm just going to stick with synths for now.

So he's got time to do interviews but not to interact with his paying customers on his company forum?
Ok got it......
He's still selling Vital including a Subscription that promises:
Where is the "First Access to new plugins" that are promised? "Subscriber Only Packs"? "Prioritized Support"?
To promise something in order to induce payment and then not deliver is tantamount to fraud.
Nah, to me Matt is not a "cool guy" but if I were to say exactly what I think of him I would most certainly earn a suspension.
Don't bother replying, nothing you can say will change my opinion of him as a business man or as a human being.

If Mr. Sound Author makes another sound-bank for Vital 2, I'm willing to pay again for a Vital license for sure.
He made an incredible magical work in those 2 sound-banks.
Edit: I wish he made the same work for Serum...
