Hello Mathias, regarding Windows users, will a reduction like the launch one occur when Atelier becomes Microsoft compatible?
Second question, the sampler module be able to sample its input in effect mode in the DAW, like the audio buffer effects (granular and stutter FX)?
And third, there be a mini sequencer as a modulator?

I mean i´ll buy it day one anyway.
I don´t understand what Atelier exactly is.
I don´t understand if it´s meant to be used sort of as a modular plugin, beeing sort of a frame to host its own FX blocks, or are these single FX plugin blocks (VST/AU), or is it both ?
Some short explanations would be very welcome. Dying on curiosity

my main questions:
is there something like the superfader still there per the single FX, or is this gonne ?
Has it oversampling ? If so, global, or per the single FX block ?


And:
is the GRM 3 bundle still updated feature wise in the future ?
I LOVE it !....i have in fact two licenses (full bundles).
I´d have there some user feedback / feature requests.

The quoted €249 is with french taxes ( see Mathias´ post). Guess Uk taxes are +- same. So, no additional UK mark up.


I´d do the price quote without any taxes, plus the then required "+ Taxes of your country" addon.

Somehow missed this discussion! Thanks all for your enthusiasm! Just wanted to clarify a few points.

GRM is a small team inside a public institution (INA); indeed founded by Pierre Schaeffer in 1958. Our activity is keeping the heritage and encouraging emerging forms of experimental music (concerts, residencies, publications), and the R&D effort of inventing tools for musicians, which I lead. GRM Tools, our suite of plugins, has been around since the 90s.

Atelier, which we previewed at Superbooth, is a completely new product. It bears a common philosophy with, and is inspired by GRM Tools 3, but is a full reinvention, with new ideas and workflows, and completely new algorithms. I started from scratch: Atelier bears no single line of code with GRM Tools 3.

Yep, our current GRM Tools 3 website is not great . We're developing a new one right now, that will be much clearer and user-friendly. It will sell Atelier as well as GRM Tools 3. Expect it on launch in September.

Atelier will be 249€ with (French) taxes. There will be 20% off at launch, 35% permanent for education, and 30% off for previous GRM Tools 3 customers (not cumulative, take the max that applies to you). All Atelier purchases will come with 3 activations. At launch we'll support macOS but a Windows port is on the way and should be available Q1 2026.

further clarity on the upgrade paths/discount options for GMR tools -> Atelier would be helpful. I have the creative bundle but don't see any upgrade paths for anything. regardless, i'm very interested in Atelier. fan of your work so getting some of that in the box will be great.

Hi all, a few answers below:

I don´t understand what Atelier exactly is.

In very simple, practical terms: it's a suite of sound-processing modules (8 of them at launch: 5 effects, 2 generators, and 1 analyzer), inside an environment that allows you to chain them, and modulate any parameter with 3 different modulators. Modules are very much inspired by Eurorack in feature granularity, but go beyond in several ways:
- The modulation system is *polyadic*, unlike any software or hardware you know. It's our own invention: basically any modulation target is its own independent modulator.
- Sound processors are fully multichannel; no restriction on channel count: N in -> N out
- Each module is designed to be based on a basic concept yet reward depth of exploration. Not your standard compressor/EQ/reverb suite.

The whole environment comes as a plugin (VST3, AU, AAX) and a standalone app; they are strictly identical.

Yes, GRM Play has a Record button to sample its input. And it is modulatable, which is a lot of fun for automated, semi-random stutter/resampler effects.

Not in v1.0. But I do have plans for one in the future.

Any previous GRM Tools 3 purchase will qualify for the discount. Purchases after launch don't qualify. Basically, you'll log into our new website with the same email address as your previous purchase and the discount will be applied automatically. Btw we consider this a loyalty discount, not an upgrade (it's not the same product).

This is a bit outside of my expertise but I think I can answer: no, our 249€ price includes 20% French VAT. From outside the EU you'll pay ~200€ + your local taxes. So in your case it'll be 249€ with taxes.

IIUC most countries have more-or-less the same taxes on software, that's why we present it this way.

Good question same here - in fact there was never any mechanism for bringing what I had bought elsewhere into my INA-GRM account

I think they said when they announced the permanent price drop for the current tools that they would still be developed. But I've been around long enough, you too, to know that sometimes that doesn't happen.
