An exported mixdown is muddy compared to the tracks playing in Tracktion. This is probably a common noob prob. :help:

it shouldn't be...

did you mix down to a different sample rate, and did you have the mix levels set such that the output uses as much of the available headroom as possible?

My final level is around 0 db. I work at 44100 hz 16 bit. I haven't had this problem with Kristal, Quartz, or CMuzys. The difference isn't drastic. I haven't used any analysis VST, but my ears tell me some "sparkle" is gone.

I think I read something about this in a thread somewhere. I'll continue to look.

Dangit, the volume was down a bit on Windows Media Player. That subdued the highs. :oops: Seems like it should be linked to the main volume knob.

Oh well, I learned that Audacity is 32 bit while tying to fix my prob, so I downloaded it.
