Per Track Input Mode:
Tracktion 2 adds a "per track input mode", offering an alternative to the traditional "drag the input to the track" assignment method. If you have more than just a few inputs, you'll appreciate not having to sort through all of those input icons to find the one you need - instead, simply select an audio or MIDI input from a drop-down menu available on every track.
A new feature  A bit light...

But i would like we could connect an MIDI input on each track and choose "all the channels" or only one by track. I think we can't do this in T1, the channel selection is done in each MIDI clip, I can't play a different VSTi by changing the MIDI channel in my keyboard...

Use channelizer from midi tools

They've also announced loop record--that's a biggy.

Oops :hihi: But when I posted, i'm sure the loop mode hadn't been written yet :D

Channelizer ? I should check it, thanks

I'm trying to put off money i don't have thanks to a devolving HMO plan in our *ucked, er fair nation... My sonar 4 update looms, yet i wait... WHEN WHEN WHEN? even a generality of time would be appreciated... cuz if i need to go ahead and do that Sonar update, just say so, and i will. Tracktion is a life saver... all i have to say about that. I love IT!!! these new features though... for what i do... i'd be happy sittin' on Sonar 3.1.1.
Samplitude's pissed me off so bad, i've abandon it after being with it since version 1.5... Thanks for all your hard work in taking a fantastically laid out program, and finding a way to improve it!
Again: Would it be safe to say, by next month???? ;)

I think it'd be pretty safe to say it's a very short time now--I can't imagine the Mackie "striptease" could carry on for months...all the signs are "go" for checking the couch cushions for extra change.

Sure is looking mature. Now all I need is a mixer and it might supplant my overdue upgrade to Sonar 4.

I hope some people aren't thinking that "Loop record mode" is like Acid, or maybe nobody is thinking that.

To me, it's kind of like folder tracks. Am I correct in this assumption?

I'm truly excited more each day. I really can't wait for this now.

It all sounds kool to me. Where do I sign?

Oh, and it still says, "And many more.....". Maybe there will be two or three more sets of features released before NAMM. And if they aren't going for NAMM, then who knows how much more they could add.

I know one thing. This is surely a huge release. It's evident what Jules has been doing all these months.

Loop Recording:
Got a client who can't sing their way out of a paper bag? Or perhaps an overzealous lead guitar player? No problem. Tracktion 2 includes "loop record mode" which makes it easy to record multiple passes and compile the best of each into the perfect take.

:D :D :D :D :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :D :D

YES!!!! I would have bought T2 for this feature alone. Why? I'm my own client who couldn't sing my way out of a paper bag, AND I'm an overzealous lead guitar player. :D

This feature was so important, I was verging on saying that I "need" it. ;)

I figured out that the loop record mode wan't like acid when i tried midi loop recording but it'd be kinda nice if there was loop recording like acid as another option...

Care to elaborate for those of us that aren't acid casualties?

Post

basically it plays back the looped segment but records normally. so if you have a drum beat that's a measure long and record two measures with it looped then it records a two measure take.

 i think i just killed the namm thread...
