Hmm... there seems to be an inconsistency with rack width propagation. Create a blank mux in composer's modular area with just a rack slot inside, let's call this one "Rack A". Since it has no mixer strip, it is thinner than a rack with mixer strip ("Rack B"). Choosing "propagate width" function on "Rack B" should make the width of "Rack A" equal to "Rack B" shouldn't it?

Yes, indeed. And that's using the very latest plug version, 4.0.5.
Tested it again now in MuLab 10.0.84, works fine.

Another layer of mystery is that their other plugins work fine in MuLab 10 (and 9). It's just this one that doesn't want to work for me in v10.

Whatever that major bug was, fixing it sure did wonders for efficiency. Almost every plugin that used to chug in mulab, now performs like a champ, even Battalion from UA, which is saying something since it’s a beast.

Weirdly, cpu usage goes down when graphics heavy plugins are open and not closed or minimized.
