I wonder if people in the European union could use the General Data Protection Regulation and request their data from NI and so we can finally see what is happening.
Maybe if everyone requests their data they will get annoyed. Maybe NI isn't even compliant with the GDPR or the DSA.

Yes, NI is indeed a dying company but that doesn't mean their products are suddenly bad. They are not.
I'd still say Reaktor is probably the best bang for buck purchase of a synth that a person can do in 2025. Massive X, while it has it's issues, is undeniably absolutely amazing sounding, probably in the top 5 all time greats in my book. Kontakt is still the industry standard for good reason.
Guitar Rig is an absolutely amazing and super valuable multi FX unit. It's decent for interesting guitar tones as well but as a general purpose FX playground it's world class. Raum is a beast of a reverb, one of the best for long lush tails and interesting ambiences. Replica is an amazing delay plugin. Supercharger is an absolutely unique sounding compressor / mojo / saturation plugin and thus very valuable.
etc.
Yes, NI as a company may be dead or dying a very slow death but it's quite hard to "waste" money purchasing their products. Most are still supported and will probably work many years into the future.

you should move to europe where there is some consumer protections, you may even enjoy actually using the different rights consumer have and make companies accountable, in the USA is impossible but the regulations in the EU is way better.
I think you living in the US with the ultra exploitative system it has goes totally contrary to the values you keep pushing here.

I don't agree that they are a dying company, although they certainly went through a rough patch and delivered nothing new or innovative for quite some time. They have a new CEO in charge and they have delivered new hardware for traktor and keyboards. I am a maschine user and it was neglected for the longest time, but its finally getting some love. They have also teased a new synth which is supposed to come out later this year so lets see what they offer. The existing catalogue of synths is still damn fine and across their portfolio they have some great stuff like Massive X, Super 8, Monark, Rounds and of course the endless Reaktor ensembles. I guess in todays market which is saturated they are fighting for relevance, but on many fronts they are still leaders so I think they won't disappear. On the contrary in todays hyper competitive world they will probably be the one company that will be there in 10 years. Lets see...as a big user of their stuff I hope they survive.

Oh I hope they survive too but they haven't shown almost any signs of actually delivering things users actually want, in terms of new products or even updates. I too am a Machine user and have decided not to fund their 3.0 lineup as it was absolutely abysmal. There are so many "almost great" products that fail miserably in usability and just general purpose bloat due to some poor design decisions. Machine is among these products and could have been a much bigger success story.
We'll see what the new CEO can do but I don't have my hopes up. It doesn't build confidence that NI is part of a mega conglomerate that includes two other companies where only one of them is still alive and kicking (in my opinion, that'd be Plugin Alliance). iZotope has been dying for at least half a decade now in a very similar fashion to NI, mostly due to bad decisions and greed. So that's a combination of 2 dying and 1 living company getting together, being ruled by one of the dying. Not great odds for the future. If history of companies is anything to go by, they don't have all that good of a chance to survive. The way they are dying is virtually textbook perfect.

Massive X is an outstanding creative synth for designer. I would love a FM8 revival. One of the best vst FM ever but hard to use on a 4k monitor. Same for Prism another beast.bmanic wrote: Tue Sep 02, 2025 9:40 pm YMassive X, while it has it's issues, is undeniably absolutely amazing sounding, probably in the top 5 all time greats in my book. I never had the original Massive. But I got Massive X with Complete and the sound of it is amazing. The presets I have tried so far show what this synth is capable of. Though I haven’t had the time to dive deeper into programming my own sounds I am looking forward to do so. What’s holding me back is that the interface is not my cup of tea. But that might change.

I'd buy Prism again in a shot if they updated the GUI. Guessing as Reaktor based not going to happen unless they update that too (as opposed to Massive which is standalone?)Gam456 wrote: Thu Sep 04, 2025 10:59 pm I would love a FM8 revival. Intakt also. Back in the day it was Recycle and Intakt. What they could do to drum loops.
