Indeed. I'd seen that in some video, but when used in a hands on way along with the improved hit boxes, it really helps make the UI feel slick and solid.

It also seems like that for resizing notes.

It means mouse movements can be carried out intentionally, without the chance of getting caught up in a side quest to struggle through finding the right tool icon.

Scale mode in the arpegiator is pretty fun too. I guess it clears the way for Bitwig users to start making tons of 80s Power Ballad type key changes! :hihi:

Nice update, tho I don’t think it will move me to buy another year of updates just to get it.

I don’t want to pay, pretty much.

*I may look into the cheaper versions, I don’t really use much of the stuff included in the full version anyway.

not sure how this stops me from using a machine with earlier CPU that has enough processing power.
It doesn't. It just prevents you from using Bitwig 6. Maybe I misunderstood your statement. You said "thats not good". Certainly not good for you. For anyone else using a recently modern machine? Probably not a bad thing.

My biggest disappointment about Bitwig's alias clips is that it doesn't seem to be possible to overdub-record into an alias clip, neither in the arranger nor the clip launcher. Bitwig always creates a new unique clip when recording, severely limiting their usefulness. It means that alias clips can only be used to track changes done via piano roll, but not via recording. A bit puzzling, and I hope something they can sort out before the full release.

never mind, i already got more recent machine to run Bitwig 6.
anyway, my venerable 2012 Mac Mini retirement would happen sooner or later (well, not really, it's now reprofiled to do home server jobs).

Some good (and negative) points about the new automation system (imo)

Hope they fix these.

Interestingly, if you want to use a lesser version, you have to buy a separate lic and use it with a separate account. You cannot have multiple lic’s, and you cannot downgrade an existing lic.

Anyway, just noting.

So it seems, still I’m pretty sure I’m wasting a lot on content I literally never use. Sigh…

That's an excellent video by Polarity.

Yes, the last added automation lane should appear at the top. And yes, the notes in midi clips should be more visible in the new automation mode.

One thing. Polarity said that there was nothing indicating whether a track has automation, but actually there is a 'dot' indicator in the unfold area. IMO, that dot should be darker to make it more visible.

Yes that just a small thing, which hopefully they'll fix.

Was using the beta some more and it's sooo nice for editing and moving notes. Just feels much more in control with the mouse.

Still a little bit of fiddling to get the right edit cursor, but the spray can seems a nice touch.

I found a bug trying to select alternate notes while looping, it would glitch and lose the selection after 5-6 notes, but it could have been due to the arpegiator which had seemed to record changes where I had e.g. clicked on note length, which was a bit odd as I didn't think I was capturing and automation... Was a bit strange

I just see it as content is bundled and free, and that I'm paying for the DAW functionality.

Every DAW has bundled content of some kind.
