Waveform 13.5 messy

I downloaded W13.5 in order to give another try, other versions were crash fests on OSX.
I noticed that the datas on the properties panel and actions panel are sometimes different.
example : I record a midi clip, lenght is 4 bars in the properties panel and 0 in the actions panel !
I wanted to limit the lenght of the recorded midi clip, when I moved the lenght on the properties panel, the value does not reflect in the actions panel, so I can have 2 different values for the same length ?

That definitely looks like a bug. I can confirm it here in Waveform 13.5.8 in Windows 10. Do you want to report it to them?

A bug, yes. If I remember correctly, then I reported it. Better report it again to make the devs see that more than a single user is suffering it.

The MIDI Event List has the same bad info as the Actions tab.

Thanks for confirming this is a bug. Not a good start for a 30 days demo !
Edit : I mouse clicked on the support team link on the Traction website to report the bug but the only option given is to chat with a bot
Bot told me I bugs can be reported on KVR waveform forum, so I think they keep an eye here !
Even there website is messy
probably no chance they fix the bug before my trial period will end and I will not purchase a licence for a buggy DAW.
As a previous licenced user from tracktion 1 until 6, i'm done with recurrent bugs and switched to other rock solid DAWS !

I put in a ticket for this bug after talking to the bot for a while. The bots make me laugh with their suggestions when I'm calm enough. Thankfully I'm not really invested in this bug and the "maybe try these completely unrated things" seemed funny.Boudin wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 3:58 pm Edit : I mouse clicked on the support team link on the Traction website to report the bug but the only option given is to chat with a bot![]()
Bugs depend on OS, other software, hardware, and workflow. No DAW is lacking bugs, you're just not bumping up against them. Check the release notes of any DAW. There are always bug fixes. How can they be "rock solid" and yet still have bug fixes?Boudin wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 3:58 pm i'm done with recurrent bugs and switched to other rock solid DAWS !
This bug is a case in point. I use Waveform every day and never noticed it. I never use the Actions tab and rarely use the Event list. And even with the bug existing, I don't really care. I would use the track view to see a MIDI clip's start and duration and Properties gets opened before Actions.
That's not to say there have been no big bugs in Waveform, nor should we stop reporting the small ones. Just that you're over-stating things. It's not a binary state - bugfest or bug-free. It's a matter of happenstance and degree.
Use what you like. Hope the bugs don't crawl on you. Try to help the developers and others where you can. Or don't.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

It is fixed the synchronization of parameter visualization between the properties panel and actions panel. I just tested for it in the new "public beta 13.5.13".
I never used the MIDI Event List viewer and am not sure what to expect from it, but cannot see strange values there. Shifting inside the MIDI clip the content to either side is updating the values in the MIDI Event List viewer accordingly. Seems to be fixed, as well.

I disagree. I have been using logic, bitwig and reaper for years, there are some minor bugs indeed but these DAWs never crashed my macs since my first imac 2007.pough wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 5:06 pm

With tracktion, there are MAJOR bugs and It often crashed my macs within a few minutes, crash to desktop. I even faced a kernel panic on OSX, I did not know it was even possible on OSX and I faced this issue only with tracktion, no other DAW crashes to desktop or kernel panic.
Even when I use Bitwig on my imac or mac M1 for techno music live gigs, it never crashes with 100 tracks and lot of plugins and audio clips. I will never perform live gigs with Tracktion !!!

I disagree that you disagree.
Buggy is relative, not absolute, and other people have different experiences.
As for performance on Macs, I can't say anything since I haven't used a Mac this millennium.
None of this really matters. It's good that you're finding and reporting bugs.
I will never perform live gigs with any software, so in my experience they are all completely bug-free. I have had electricity from a microphone course through my lips to my fingers on the strings of my bass once. Does that count as a bug?
Surely there must be consensus by now...

I spent a couple hours yesterday trying to get the browser to reflect changes in my plugin list.
Seems like it’s not actually connected to the list, but reads it occasionally. Weird…

I think it reads it when opening an Edit, but is not synchronized during the Edit staying opened.

Daw with a mac and you're fine for a gig, can't say the same for PC users, that's a long debate !pough wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 7:55 pm I will never perform live gigs with any software, so in my experience they are all completely bug-free. I even performed a 1 hour live gigs with an old thinkpad X240 laptop under linux mint, bitwig 5, a foscurite audio interface and an Akai MPC40 MKII, no crashes.
Concerning your bass, it's not a bug, it's a wiring issue

Hum,
My bad, I reloaded Waveform 13.5 demo, version is still 13.5.8. So developers want users to try a buggy version and buy it after ?
A joke ?
Will you buy a new car which need fixing ?
