Hello there,

For years, I've using MuLab on an aging computer I'd like to replace soon.

What would be the best way to transfer all my projects (VST configurations included) to a new computer?
For instance, would the "Export Consolidated Project" feature be enough to save the VST configurations ?

Thank you :)

If you install all used plugins also on your new computer then you can simply copy your MuProjects files to the new computer. No need for Export Consolidated Project in that case. Make sure the MuLab installation on the new computer has an up to date plugin database (MuLab menu -> Plugin Manager) and all MuLab projects will reload fine.

In any case it is strongly recommended to make a solid backup of your data on your old computer in case you would need to get back to it for some reason.

Hope this helps.

Success!

Another aspect is the used audio files.
If you have stored the audio files specifically used by a project in that project's Audio sub-folder, as recommended, then you won't have a lot to do as MuLab will instantly find these audio files again as MuLab uses relative links to such audio files.
If a certain project has used audio files on a more unrelated location on your old computer then make sure to also copy these audio files to your new computer. Upon opening a project on your new computer MuLab will ask you to locate any missing audio files and you can locate them manually or let MuLab search for them on your new computer.

So moving projects to another computer is a fully supported case and should not cause too much unexpected trouble.
Anyway, a good backup of the original is vital, just in case...

Tip: Also see the MuLab menu -> Tools -> List MuTools Files Version function which can be handy to have a better view on your project/preset files.
