I'd love to see someone port all of the fftease max/pure data processors into a bay. I guess it would be possible with plugdata, but I haven't looked into it. When you add all the modular DSP platform into it, there's a whole lot more spectral processing out there.
I wish spectrumworx had gotten fully stable before they folded. It was vaguely similar to UA spec ops in that it was a modular rack of spectral processes with a modulation section. I only could ever reliably use it via patchwork which seemed to stop most of the bigger crashes that it suffered from. It's open source now, but I haven't heard of anyone working on a release.

Just got SpecOps a couple days ago. Really digging it. I like that it can be crazy or subtle and can alter a signal without utterly destroying it. Completely different than the spectral effects in Infiltrator, which try to obliterate everything they touch. Both have their uses, but I didn't realize I needed SpecOps until I demoed it.

combine it with U-He Zebralette3 or other crazy synth for sounds you never heard beforebillinder33 wrote: Tue Sep 16, 2025 2:01 am Just got SpecOps a couple days ago. Really digging it. sometimes i use it in combination with Supermodal and just pink noise, nice drones and stuff

Reminder:Envelope Follower
and saying SpecOps quasi doubles into saying "Zip" also.
loong time No see though.
( i hadn´t had the cPU power for everything back then. still don´t haha)

This is a nice reminder that I need to knock the dust off Zebralette. Haven't touched that one in a couple months. Serum 2's fault!!martiu wrote: Tue Sep 16, 2025 8:51 amcombine it with U-He Zebralette3 or other crazy synth for sounds you never heard beforebillinder33 wrote: Tue Sep 16, 2025 2:01 am Just got SpecOps a couple days ago. Specops is so awesome. Love throwing all sorts of stuff through it. Great in Bitwig to patch it into the feedback chain of a delay or reverb.
Don't love the GUI though and not a fan of the cable patching. It's sort of tedious to program tbh.
I use it just as a compressor though more than an fx unit. Really good for doing a sort of OTT-like smashery.
