Even without the filter, this thread is an atrocity exhibition

I had it on too. I was wondering why people were saying that this month PolyMAX is "Wild and Free"

I think Einstein said that.
Anyway, great freebee no doubt.

Thanks for the NKS presets - now I can control my UAD synths. I almost started to create a template , but I 've found your files : )

It's a roundabout route, but you can also use midi learn in Komplete Kontrol to map anything loaded into it to any midi controller

mi-os wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 8:40 pm UAD's preset browser is rather terrible. Expanding a GUI to the left (or right) is not a good idea. Softube's is only marginally better, but thay also do that less than ideal GUI expanding for other things. Who likes their GUIs jumping around? Not me, anyway.
I think both are brilliant, for the simple reason you can tweak a patch without having to close the browser. It makes finding the right sound about one billion times easier than most synths.
It's interesting how quickly people want to call something "simple" or "simplistic", just because it isn't crammed full to overflowing with features you'll hardly ever use. The range of sounds this synth is capable of is amazing, and isn't that what actually matters? Yes, there are many simple synths that are held back by their simplicity but this ain't one of those, so why be so critical of it?
I've favourited more than 50 presets, which is not something I've done in a very long time. Whoever does their patching seems to know the kinds of sound I like, although there is, as always, a lot of dross in there as well. As I said above, being able to tweak the sounds a bit as you go through them, thanks to the separate browser, makes deciding what's worth favouriting so much faster and easier. It also gives you a much better idea of what the instrument might be capable of as you go through.

That’s sort of like criticizing a screwdriver because it’s not a Swiss Army knife. Sometimes, a high quality, single purpose tool is the best choice for a task.SteveWZ wrote: Mon May 26, 2025 1:24 pm"A man is not defined by the size or quantity of his oscillators, but what he does with those oscillators...."EvilDragon wrote: Wed Nov 09, 2022 12:00 am

For Luna users, the presets are integrated in the DAW, with tags for genre, type, and description.

The post is nearly three years old, it was probably his initial impression. I had a similar opinion back then, especially with an intro price of about 199 bucks.SteveWZ wrote: Mon May 26, 2025 1:24 pm"A man is not defined by the size or quantity of his oscillators, but what he does with those oscillators...."EvilDragon wrote: Wed Nov 09, 2022 12:00 am

But yeah, it sounds good. And meanwhile I got it for free, in one of the UA promotions this year.

I find it very good sounding tbh. I miss some stuff, like a drive section or a trig option for the LFO for example, so that with every press of a note you get to trigger the LFO as well. An one-shot mode would have been nice as well, perhaps a feature for the 2nd LFO?

Hey fellow KVRians!
Just wanted to share a video where I go over some of the features that really stood out to me. Maybe there’s something in there you’ll dig too.
All sounds (including the chapter demos) are straight from UADx PolyMAX. So no extra processing.
