SnapHeap is excellent indeed. And the regular phaser from KhZ is a nice starting point imho.

How good is Soundtoys Phase Mistress? I have a license for it, but never installed it due to the very old and non resizeable GUI... Is it worth it, compared to say Fazortan 2?

Not sure I'd call $350 for a new one "cheap", but that's me.

Yes, that's why I was being ironic. :-)

They seem to have been dormant for nearly a decade... Maybe just their reverb still going?

I like using the updated effects rack that comes with Serum 2 as an option. I’m glad that Steve designed it so that the effects can be used as a separate plug-in. The modulation effects are easy to use, and you can dial in some lush phasing with just a few mouse clicks.

Minimal Audio’s Ripple Phaser, with it’s 24 notches is also a lot of fun to use. To my ears, it sometimes reminds me of the fantastic phaser that’s onboard the Access Virus line of hardware synths.

That phaser played a big role in crafting the iconic sounds that the Virus is known for. This plug-in is also capable of very liquid-sounding swirls that can be subtle, or over the top and wobbly. It’s a great pick and at an affordable price.

UVI’s Phasor is excellent for deeper editing and control of the effect, and is only $29 at the time of this post. If you don’t mind iLok authorization, this is a really good option.

Got it.

On the plus side, it has to be only a matter of time before it's a $100 plugin from Strymon.

I looked at analog phasers etc. but they just didn't have what I wanted/required (including true stereo and MIDI control, and I wanted a pedal available for when I'm not in the mood for software.

Never used Fazortan but Phase Mistress is very nice. Multiple different possible 'flavours' and has something that some phasers lack which is the ability to easily turn off the internal LFO and drive it manually. GUI is a bit shit but Soundtoys are known for this though...

Oh right, thanks for the heads up. I'll have to update it.

Another phaser I quite liked was Arturia Bitron. Although slightly rustic/gritty sounding, had a definite character to it. CPU usage was much too high though imo. Also quite like the phaser in Serum/Serum FX. Especially with the upgrade with up to 12 poles/notches. My most preferred Phaser style is the glassy/squeaky type and Serums does that very well...

Here's a lesser known phaser that I think is very good :tu:

I think people are generally sticking to the ones they think are good or interesting.

But then also, it is kvr :hihi:

yes, KVR madness
Any other recommendations for a full rich Phasor?
so many of the suggestions listed are definitely not rich.
NI Phasis or UVI Phasor for example... i own them, they're useful, the latter is versatile and kind of unique, but they're not rich.
Rich is creamy like Nembrini EK Phaser, maybe Godfazer, Eventide Instant Phaser or Fix Phaser...
won't open the can of worms that is AA Bigrock, but... lest we forget.

NI Phasis is fine, but yeah quite smooth, and not rich and juicy. I think UVI (bar the howdy doodle fck off video), seems like it can do some cools effects, but it also pretty clean and also not rich juicy.

The arturia bi-tron sounds super expensive sounding, but also on the smooth side so probably not too different from the eventide instant phasor that I have. The Psp wobble sounded great, but in an old school guitar way and also not quite what I think I'm after.

Minimal audio Ripple seems quite interesting as a wider effect, seems to have a lot of range.

I'll do a shoot out but the more I hear examples of the d16 ones, the more I think those are the ones I will want. (though I might hold out for black Friday as they are not that cheap if you want both!!)

I'm looking forward to trying the ensoniq dp4 emulation, dusty devices phasor-ddl - but it sounds quite grainy to me from examples.

Anyway it's great we can get so many good recommendations here.

(And yeah the AA one... the company seems too inactive...)
