These „wrappers“ are annoyingly as big as all the other plugin formats.

A big waste of space. Not cool.

I have about 30 Softube plugins. So that’d be 550MB for just the VST3’s if I didn’t want them. If I don’t want 2 of 3 formats that’s over 1 Gigabyte of space wasted. Even if it’s less, than if the plugins contained their resources, that’s still a fair amount! Plus it leaves the last zipped version of Softube Central on the machine, so add another needless 200MB to any total. I’d say that’s enough space used to warrant providing an option to install only the formats you need? :)
The really irritating one is Korg, who's VST3s pull from inside the VST2 versions. Delete the VST2s, and you break the GUI for the VST3s. You HAVE to leave them both installed for the VST3s to work.
Yes, with anything from the Korg Digital Edition era and prior. Rob Papen’s the same, with the result that their “VST3” plugins are not stable on Cubase 14 for me, so I had to stop using them. There might be a bit of hope for Korg since they ported all of their gadget plugins to VST3 (I think.. Or did they just wrap ‘em?) In a bit of irony, on the Mac side, Steinberg wrap their AU’s and require that the VST3 versions remain installed. ;)

Ha. My Jup-8000 v manual is 130MB. Bet Softube can't touch this 😉

Interesting information here. If you use Windows (even recent) or if you have an old Mac around you can always use the 32-bit versions of many of their older plugins - maybe that avoids some of the bloating, I don't know. However, for those who don't have them yet, the download page that had all those old installers vanished last spring and has not been brought back despite promises. A lot of strange things happened with Softube this year and I'm liking the company less and less.

I'll just keep using my 32-bit versions, and where I have to use Softube Central instead I'll at least ignore the constant pushes for installing updates.

Since we are talking Softube here, is it only me or did they hide the "latest" 2.6.15 updates a bit too well?

They "were released" 23 September, but WHERE?... I can not find them

Pfffff

It was just an update for Equalizers. Unusual for Softube to update only a single plugin, but in this case, it was just one.

The thought struck me, but I were tricked by the fact the actual plugin they updated is actually named "equalizers".... I have many softube "equalizer" plugins, but none are .15, so I were foolder :)

Thanks for the update Bnz
