A very talented man. The Voodoo album is truly a classic. 51 is way too young. I remember back in the day when I was working as a web designer/developer the Voodoo album was the soundtrack to many of my work days.
He was also a major Sly & The Family Stone fan like myself, he was majorly influenced by that and even appeared in the recent Sly Stone documentary.

R.I.P., during college, my next door neighbor in the apartment complex I lived in played Brown Sugar sometimes all day long on repeat.

Had a similar experience/reason for playing that, but it was the whole CD, not just one track on repeat.

very true, when I would see him and his girlfriend later in the day or the next day, they were definitely exhausted and spent looking
