I didn't know he had cancer
What a singer.

Saw this on another thread and it still hasn’t sunk in.

More than a singer. Very creative, talented and spent an obsessive amount of time deep diving the recording and songwriting techniques of those before him.

A very talented man. The Voodoo album is truly a classic. 51 is way too young. I remember back in the day when I was working as a web designer/developer the Voodoo album was the soundtrack to many of my work days.

He was also a major Sly & The Family Stone fan like myself, he was majorly influenced by that and even appeared in the recent Sly Stone documentary.

I just saw this f**k cancer.

Yep way to young. The avg age for pancreatic cancer is 71. Sad day...

D'Angelo created new grooves & beats & ways to be funky!
He attracted the best of the best like Pino Palladino on bass, ?uestLove and Chris Dave on drums...
I miss him greatly!

He wrote and produced this anthem as a teenager...all the biggest R&B names of the 90s...sad how many of them in this song are now gone

Music had a one night stand with sound design.....And the condom broke

R.I.P., during college, my next door neighbor in the apartment complex I lived in played Brown Sugar sometimes all day long on repeat.

Endless practice runs for human reproduction.

Had a similar experience/reason for playing that, but it was the whole CD, not just one track on repeat. :hihi:

very true, when I would see him and his girlfriend later in the day or the next day, they were definitely exhausted and spent looking :D
