I'm looking forward to trying the Trilian analog sound sources (which are amazing) through improved analog filters. I bet that's a killer combo.

One thing that seemed odd - The hardware controller integration now includes controllers (which is cool), but from the video there's no indication that it uses more than 8 controls if there's only 8 knobs for example. I checked the manual and the NI Komplete kontrol integration makes it seem like there are just 8 of the global contgrols mapped. Why wouldn't they at least do the whole page of those global controls? They can't have pages?

I was just going to ask about this, and I just bought a Kontrol s88 mk3, so your question is super relevant. I was hoping the parameter control was deep for Omnisphere, it would make the price not an issue if it integrated at a high level with Kontrol without the Komplete plugin. Do you own 2? It's one major synth I never bought.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 1:21 am One thing that seemed odd - The hardware controller integration now includes controllers (which is cool), but from the video there's no indication that it uses more than 8 controls if there's only 8 knobs for example. Don't know what you mean. Analog synths sound cheesy and like boring 80ies music.hebex wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 12:54 am I know this is a KvR-forum and that I´m swearing in the VST-church, but I just want to say I´ve waited a quarter of a century for this dream to come true and all -- yes all -- VSTs still sound flat, low bandwith, dead and sterile when pushed, compared to a good analog synth. The last 10-15%, that make all the difference, is still there to grab. Will Omni3 do it?

Yeah that's what I was trying to say, the G-Force synths do that with the Random button.Examigan wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 11:05 pmI think seangm meant to load an existing preset, randomly choosing one.Alchemedia wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 10:50 pmIf 41,000 presets aren't enough...seangm wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 8:46 pm Hope they add a "Random" button like the G-Force synths that loads a random preset
For an AI to generate 26,000 new synth sounds for Omnisphere, the process would take anywhere from a few hours to several weeks, depending heavily on the specific method and desired quality. The timeline is not a single, fixed duration because it involves multiple steps, including training the AI, generating the raw data, and processing/refining the final patches for Omnisphere.

Do I own Omni 2? Yeah had it since v1. I've used it with FreelanceSounds NKS with Komplete Kontrol and that's alright but can't say I love controlling omnisphere from hardware with 8 knobs. The new global page seems cool because it turns a complex synth into more like a simple hardware synth - filter, amp envelope, filter envelope, basic effects. Wish it had just lfo instead of vibrato though, and some kind of osc control, even it was just some kind of balance between layers. I'm sure the new nks from freelancesounds will use the global sounds first, but I'm surprised if Omni controller support uses only 8 controls and calls that hardware integration.machinesworking wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 1:31 amI was just going to ask about this, and I just bought a Kontrol s88 mk3, so your question is super relevant. I looked at the manual for the Novation Launch Control XL since that is my favorite controller, and a few other controllers I use.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Oct 16, 2025 1:21 am One thing that seemed odd - The hardware controller integration now includes controllers (which is cool), but from the video there's no indication that it uses more than 8 controls if there's only 8 knobs for example. I found that it used 16 controls
On the LCXL it's 8 knobs for the 8 global controls (Cutoff, Resonance, Filter Envelope Amount, Global Controls Vibrato Depth,, Ambience Amount, Ambience Length, Unison, Glide)
And then the 8 sliders/faders for two ADSR envelopes one for Amp and the other filter
Finally it uses the up and down buttons to browse presets
That would leave me 16 knobs and 16 buttons to program and use MIDI learn to do whatever I want
That's pretty awesome I think
My Arturia and Novation controllers are the same way,
when I looked at the NI controllers since they only have 8 knobs you only get 8 controls
I think a great case could be made if you are really into Omnisphere to get either an Akai Midimix, or a Novation Launch Control XL to use as a remote for the global controls as both of those would then each have 16 extra knobs and 16 buttons to use however you want
