As a long-time Falcon user, I hope they will implement a UI overhaul at some point to make it more appealing overall.

I go back and forth on this, it's a super capable synth, it would be a lot of work to hide that. Once you get it's quirks it's not as complex as people seem to think it is, but the quirks would be extremely hard to hide without limiting it's abilities.

The basic interface could use some work though, it's got to be a PITA if you set your 4k monitor to 4k, I wouldn't be able to read it, since the GUI doesn't really blow up the font. I have everything set to 2.5 or 2k because Falcon isn't alone in being hindered GUI wise.

I noticed that in the downloads, the link for the manual brings up the previous verion (3.1) instead of the manual for the one released today. I hope they fix the link soon.

It's not just you. Falcon hangs the DAW when closing the song (Studio One 7.2.2) for me too. W10, VST3, factory library installed (I used in fact some preset from Augmented Choirs).

Let's hope UVI is able to reproduce and fix it soon. They're not that great at assuming their booboos.

And 10 years ago on October 26 Falcon landed for the first time as the evolution of MachFive.

Falcon runs standalone or as VST, VST3, AU, and AAX on Windows 10/11 and macOS 10.14–15, optimized for all major DAWs on Intel and ARM.

BUT, i did not update\download factory library yet, may be because that ? (Meanwhile - not sure if library renewed \ need to be download ? Looks like the same rev2 ? in user acc at least)

Thanks for mentioning the Factory library, I didn't even think of that. Do you know if it needs to be downloaded and updated? It looks like it's just the same rev 1/2 on the download page like you mentioned. They don't specify an "Updated" date for the factory libraries, only for the Falcon executable so hard to tell if those need to be downloaded also.

Thank you. It contains all new samples I produced during spring/summer (santur, gongs, singing bowls, kalimba, pan drum, chimes and more) and as I made all sounds with the Beta version of Falcon 2026, all newly introduced oscillators and effects are featured in some way.

I did not figured out yet what the reason, but i found that if make unloading Falcon with opened Preferences screen, hanging does not occurs lol. Try it.
I tried changing some options in preferences, like switch to OpenGl etc, but nope, it does not helped.
But i have an idea - maybe deal in outdated video driver ? (i use NVidia, and in last times rarely make updating), well, because it looks like some related thing. (Dependency whether additional window open or not).

Yes found that it should be updated, but in user (web) account currently no link to updated library. I figured out this after install UVI Portal (frankly it first time when i decided to check manager) - and after he syncing with user library he shows that currently installed factory Rev2 is outdated, and does offer install new. (Due to that, i even assumed maybe Falcon installer itself is differ in web acc - but nope - size exact the same as downloaded from Portal lol)
So, currently new library version can achieve thru Portal only yet.
(And btw updated library did not fix mentioned above hang issue unfortunately)

And about user manual - in web user acc pdf still for v3 only. For new version can grab at main web page of plugin, in most bottom. https://www.uvi.net/falcon
(But in pdf still no tags for new modules, though info about them presents)

Seems occurs priority to Portal side using. Whereas web part become kind of dropped. That sad, for me was ok grabbing all thru web idk.

How did you notice that! I don't have the time for thorough testing but it looks true!

I have a project that very reliably kill Studio One every time I close it since I added Falcon to it, but your workaround works.

I'm seeing the "hanging on exit" issue with Cubase 12 Pro/Windows 10 also. Sounds like it's affecting multiple DAWs, I'm surprised they didn't catch it, it's pretty easy to replicate.

Yes, well, two options comes to mind - either this works ok at Win11 (i already had similar case with hard issues with another popular product after major release, which was tested at Win11 only), or again this require latest videodriver, idk.

I'm getting the hang too when unloading in Reaper, Win11, both vst2 and 3.

Edit: Unloading with the preferences open doesn't cause a hang here too.
