Before you buy anything --- Check the IKM GB page and make sure that you're not buying something that is excluded!
Here's the baseline exclusions paragraph --
* Excluded products:
Total Studio 5 (any version), TONEX Signature Bass Collection, ReSing MAX, ReSing, non-upgrade versions of AmpliTube 5, Miroslav Philharmonik 2. Also excludes T-RackS Space Delay, Lo-Fi Punch, and Tape Echo.
BUT --- Right below that, there are specific inclusion links for the various software products. I personally am having some cognitive dissonance about the phrase 'non-upgrade versions of Amplitube', though Amplitube 5 MAX V2 shows as being included.
Then again, my paranoia may be showing here...
Also -- Remember that the APD disount deal ends tomorrow. Not sure what time Zone they're in.

Sort by price: low to high. There's a few free ones first, but then the $1 ones.

same here... what does that mean after all? meaning verisons you buy instead of buying an upgrade from previous versions? strikes me as ambiguous, but maybe I´m on a brain loop and can't get outGreyLion wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 7:15 pm I personally am having some cognitive dissonance about the phrase 'non-upgrade versions of Amplitube'

I need a piece of advice.
I am switching to Bitwig and I have been playing with 8-track version for few weeks now.
I am thinking about buying the Studio version so I wanted to check if there are any preferred purchase/upgrade/update paths for Bitwig, especially now that Black Friday is coming.
Bitwig Studio will be discounted during Black Friday, correct?
Also, if I purchase Studio version now, does it mean I get (free) updates for 12 months and then I have to buy 12-months upgrade plan if I with to receive any new updates?
Can I buy the Studio itself and also buy 12 months upgrade plan at the same time, thus increasing upgrade period to 24 months? Or, alternatively, can I buy 12 months upgrade plan but not 'activate' it (not sure how it works) until I need it, is it valid forever?
Thank you.

As long as you don't opt for the auto upgrade on purchase option in the Bitwig store many of us drag out using our serials until we feel it is worth it. eg my license ran out in May and I had a serial from the last Black Friday that I am waiting for the dust to settle on Bitwig 6 before applying. I had also bought a couple in sales so you can also store them.midi sentinel wrote: Sun Oct 19, 2025 5:14 pm I need a piece of advice.

Check for s/h copies on the forums/knobcloud etc. That's how I (and others) got our initial license.midi sentinel wrote: Sun Oct 19, 2025 5:14 pm I am thinking about buying the Studio version so I wanted to check if there are any preferred purchase/upgrade/update paths for Bitwig, especially now that Black Friday is coming.

Bitwig usually goes on sale for 25-30%. They had a lower price for their anniversary sale but it’s the only time I’ve seen it be less than 30%. Other than that, they sometimes include free plugins instead, such as u-he or Arturia.

Yup Bitwig locked the price several years ago, to limit the amount of discount customers can get. They apparently felt people were getting too good of a deal picking up the renewal for $80-ish or so, so they eliminated that. Super nice guys that they are...

A few of these 2B Played plugins are somewhat interesting, even if the whole 2B Played thing is a bit cheesy. I seem to recall that they were started with the guy from Big Tik, if I'm not mistaken.
*Not to mention, they sent me a coupon for 78% off any plugin after poking around the site and trying some demos I guess. Picked up pulse loop for 12 euros.
