Be honest though in telling us what percentage of that 500 dollar plugin you'll actually use. It is and has been a bloat beyond belief of abstract ideas without any practical application. And still needs the other two (Trilian/Keyscape) to achieve a closer to omni tag.
Yeah, "Omnisphere as a concept. "

Ah, well here we are again with Spectrasonics' expansive use of mathematics. 2,000 sounds in Undercurrent, but that's 5 presets in each patch and 350 soundsources. So in total it is 372 patches.hebex wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 5:00 pm Hmm, the sonic extension Undercurrent alone has 2000 sounds. If the real number of new Omnisphere 3 sounds is 4573 is correct, then that´s of course for expectations good to know.
Absolutely brilliant expansion though. And actually a useful contrast - 375 new patches for $150, or 4,573 and a ton of new features for $199.
By way of another comparison, the Omni bundle from (the outstanding) The Unfinished has 5,527 patches. In the UK it costs £617+VAT. At today's exchange rate, that's almost exactly $1,000. So it's 20% more patches for a 500% higher price. While I have my calculator out (I can't tell you how much fun I am at parties), that's 18 cents per patch for The Unfinished bundle vs 4 cents in O3.
IMO the O3 upgrade price is more than fair. We are lucky, lucky people.

And The Unfinished (as well as Luftrum and others) have sales.noiseboyuk wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 5:42 pmAh, well here we are again with Spectrasonics' expansive use of mathematics. 2,000 sounds in Undercurrent, but that's 5 presets in each patch and 350 soundsources. California software sellers always do more research on what the market will bare and adding a percentage above that to push the market. Spectrasonics pushes that calculation even harder than most. Depending largely on the blind faith they've indoctrinated into their congregation. And reminding me to avoid their customer base as much as possible.

Are you trolling, or do you truly believe this? I suspect Omnisphere has been behind more film and television soundtracks than any other synth.BBFG# wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 5:37 pm Be honest though in telling us what percentage of that 500 dollar plugin you'll actually use. That's just the usual rhetoric of the choir though. Commercial comeback that's becomes more and more dated as time moves on. It is just a tool in the box with many others doing the same (and in some respects, used more than Omni).
And doesn't answer the question at all.
The idea of it and the application of it are not mutually inclusive.

you're kidding, right? having more-than enough sounds doesn't sound like a negative, and so many ppl use omnisphere to make music. do you actually own it and feel this way?BBFG# wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 5:37 pm Be honest though in telling us what percentage of that 500 dollar plugin you'll actually use. So...
No, I'm not kidding.
And as I've continued by hard learned lessons of years, I would and will not admit to owning it. That's like calling yourself a Christian and being automatically lumped in with those Westboro militants.
And you still haven't answered my question. Deflection has been the only response so far.

Based on my usage of Omnisphere 2 over the past 9-10 years I would say somewhere north of 90%BBFG# wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 5:37 pm Be honest though in telling us what percentage of that 500 dollar plugin you'll actually use. It's a fantastic alternative to yet another way to send yet another saw wave through yet another resonant filter
However with the included and massively upgraded VA engine, Omnisphere 3 could just be one of the best tools to send a saw wave through a resonant filter
Omnisphere's massive sample library isn't really intended for bread and butter samples/sounds. With the included massive sample library however you can most definitely make some pretty amazing bass sounds. If you want more you can buy Trilion but you most certainly don't have to. I didn't
Beyond that the Omnisphere library isn't a great source for Piano, EPs, Celestes, etc. if you want or need those again you can buy Keyscape which sounds awesome but again is not needed
Omnisphere is a fantastic sample library filled with things you won't find elsewhere, all wrapped around a fantastic synth engine and effects to transform them into whatever you want

Can you please share an example of another tool that does what Omnisphere does. Thanks in advanceBBFG# wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 6:27 pm That's just the usual rhetoric of the choir though. Because what Omnisphere does is very unique and represents a tremendous value
I own every so called flagship plugin, and none of them do what Omnisphere does

You use 90%+ of Omnisphere or you use it 90%+ of the time? Knowing your posts in other threads, and the many of other members of the current expanse of Omni, either seems highly improbable.IvyBirds wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 7:09 pmBased on my usage of Omnisphere 2 over the past 9-10 years I would say somewhere north of 90%BBFG# wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 5:37 pm Be honest though in telling us what percentage of that 500 dollar plugin you'll actually use.
