Does the plugin scan check the plugin database file is writable and report if it gets a write failure cleanly and clearly, so the user knows they've installed in a bad place?

MuLab indeed checks that on startup by trying to write a dummy file in the MuLab/User folder.
It's not specifically with the Plugin Database file, it's earlier in the startup procedure, one of the very first steps. If the write test fails a proper alert pops up.

Hey Jo, just an fyi. The new psp prequesor 3 plugin as well as many of their other products only work in mono in mulab 10.

Please do this as a diagnose test:

• Restart MuLab
• Insert that plugin
• MuLab -> Keep Log
• Share that MuLab log file

That log file will contain detailed info about what the VST3 tells about its IO.

I noticed that too and so I deleted them. Didn't think it was a bug!

The issue I had was with the free delay and another PSP plugin, don't remember which it was now.

What's changed:

• When doing combinations of load preset + revert + undo + redo for a MUX inside a rack slot, it could still happen that the cables to/from that rack slot were lost while they should persist. Fixed.
• When playing sequence clips that contain sustain pedal events, then upon looping the Time Line an All Notes Off could be played while this was not relevant. Fixed.
• When launching MuLab without a PluginDatabase.xml, a rather unexpected question popped up. Fixed.
• Applied a couple of general UI speed optimizations which may be most noticable when (un)loading (complex) projects / MUX presets, Copy/Paste and Undo/Redo actions for complex MUXes.
• When using complex modular projects / presets, it could happen that MuLab ran out of certain resources, resulting in error logs and unexpected missing events. Fixed.
  Note there still is a practical limit, but the fix is about much better avoiding reaching that limit, and at the same time the limit itself has been quadrupled.
• New "Copy Log": Easy way to copy the current MuLab log to the clipboard for easy paste in forum or email.
• Other small improvements.

What's changed:

• Event Recorder module: When it has recorded a multi MIDI channel sequence then the resulting clip will now be properly setup so it uses and plays back the multi MIDI channels.
• When drag-dropping a rack slot on a track (eg. from modular area) now a question pops up "Drop the rack slot or drop the module inside that rack slot?" to ensure a true choice.
• Step Sequencer: Lane headers: The 3 buttons at the right were too small, so now they're spread left and right to give them comfy size.
• When loading presets for a MUX inside a rack slot, still there could be an issue with the rack slot cables after the preset was loaded. Fixed.
• When showing the User License Agreement, the display scaling factor was not taken into account. Fixed.
• Other small improvements.

• MuLab App Demo version now allows saving.
• MuLab App Demo version could occasionally have an unexpected pause upon starting the time line. Fixed.
• Event Recorder: Changing the "Record From" did not create the requested cable. Fixed.
• When merging audio sequence clips with a tempo factor and with fade-ins/outs, then the resulting fades could have an offset. Fixed.
• Convert To Envelope Clip did not work for a live clip. Fixed.
• Convert To Envelope Clip did not yet take the sequence loop into account. Now it does.
• Convert To Envelope Clip: If the original clip becomes empty then the new clip simply replaces the original clip.
• Convert To Envelope Clip: This function now is also available when right-clicking the event graph curve. (not only on right-clicking the header)
• When loading a non-rack MUX preset into a rack MUX now an confirmation alert is shown, because this is a rather unusual action, so best to double-check, with easy "Undo" option.
• Focused floating window now has a shade by default. Note that this shade is only visible in MuLab's own windows, not in windows of other apps. This shade can be customized and also switched off. It can also generate a back light glow. The parameters are in Preferences -> GUI (Shade Size and Curving) and in GUI -> Colors (Shade Color). (not ideal that they're spread, but that's a separate challenge)
• Couple of extra window color preferences.
• Possible small memory leak, most prominent in MuLab Plugin. Fixed.
• Editing grids could cause a crash. Fixed.
• LFO play position dot could be drawn in areas that covered the LFO. Fixed.
• Other small improvements.

FYI: The mem leak is marginal and has been in there for years, meaning users didn't really suffer from it earlier. It only happens occasionally that's why it was only discovered now.

FYI: if you're using Falcon from UVI, you might have to set the "Keep DLL Open Until The End" Flag in the plugin manager to get Falcon 2026 into your plugin database.
