When to use delay compensation in Connector?

Hello.

I am trying to record Logic Pro X instruments into bitwig using connector.
I am sending midi to Logic Pro X's virtual midi port and record the audio being sent back to Bitwig through connector. Since both the receiver in Bitwig and the Sender in Logic Pro X have a delay compensation feature I wonder when I should use this?

In your case You probably only care about the synchronization of tracks in Bitwig, so you just need to enable latency compensation in the receiver. However there may still be some latency, depending on how the virtual MIDI port works. To avoid that you can also send MIDI thru Connector and enable latency compensation in the Connector instance that sends MIDI to Logic, so that you get full roundtrip latency compensation.

Hello and thank you for your reply.

I would like to try that but I am struggling with how to set it up.

How do I send midi from BC Connector in Bitwig to Logic Pro X?
In Bitwig I can not add BC Connector as an instrument, only as an audio effect...?

And in Logic Pro X I can insert BC Connector as a Midi Effect in Logic Pro X but then how can I get the sound of the following Logic Pro X instrument to be sent since it is coming after the MFX plugin in the signal chain?

I would really appreciate how to achieve this.

I apologize for the overwhelming questions. I figured it out and it seems to work great. Thank you!

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. Glad that you found out!
