From what I can tell Gig Performer sets up audio and MIDI streams to a DAW, but it's not running inside the DAW, I'll take a look, but it as of my knowledge now does not come across like a solution geared towards live performance in DAWs like Live, DP, Bitwig etc. it seems more like a solution to get your live performance recorded in a DAW.
Gig Performer is designed to replace your DAW for live playing. DAWs are great for recording but not so cool as you are realizing for hosting instruments to play live

In the studio it's also great as a way to easily integrate MIDI controllers in your setup for sound design

Gig Performer also includes a remote plugin that you would run in your DAW which then connects to an instance of Gig Performer running elsewhere on your computer

Ableton Live is designed for live use.

You can do tricks to get it to change the current instrument you want to play live on your keyboard with Racks while you use Push or a Launchpad to fire clips etc. but Kore was far more elegant when you got stupid complicated with that. Like everyone is inadvertently pointing out, Gig Performer isn't the solution that Kore was to streamline that process.

Abelton Live doesn't hold a candle to what Gig Performer can do live however for actually playing virtual instruments

As far as a streamlined process doesn't get more streamlined than Gig Performer. You launch it from your computer, then you launch one or more plugins inside of it, then you use your mouse to point, drag, and click your audio and MIDI connections to and from your interface and you are done. Then you save it as a preset for later recall

You combine presets into a set list and switch between them with whatever controls your choose

From there you can make it as complex as you need and can do things no other tool can

You can do all that in Live. It's not streamlined, but you also get the entire Session View experience, including all the things you can do with MIDI and audio in that environment, then there's Max 4 Live, in fact in nearly every way this is a silly comparison. Gig Performer is inferior to what Kore did for my purposes, that's just the cold hard truth.

KVR is about plugins and DAWs, and any plugin gets evaluated for how it solves a problem one might have or a solution one wants. You 100% have to expect that people will mention Live in a Bitwig thread, Kontakt in a Falcon thread, Falcon in an Omnisphere thread, and Reaper in any thread about anything.

OK, this is the day. I'm curious: where's my download? Don't get me wrong : the developers are really nice persons, but i'm that kind of naive person, who already checked the download possibility early in the morning....

Yeah, it's still not available to DL yet.
And it's well into the 25th here.
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.
