I'm analysing the wonderful preset "Butchers Chord AB". Is there an easy way to figure out which chord is stored behind the CHORD button? (Instead of using an spectrum analyser)

What i do wish is that they would change the Activation system so we could De-Activate unused activations on our own like you can do with the Arturia plugins, Studio One, Bitwig, Cherry Audio and other companies.

I also like that type of access to deactivate plugins. A few other examples are LennarDigital (Sylenth1), iLOK, Plugin Alliance, etc.

Will plug-ins that allow this connect to the internet all the time? If so, that would be a much stricter protection than what we currently use. I personally do not like a forced internet connection when opening plug-ins that have already been authorized, or software services permanently running in the background. If there is a way to do it without, we'll be happy to look into it.

You only need internet the first time you install the plugins like most C/R Protections do.
After that they can be used offline and i only need Internet to log into my accounts to manually delete unused authorized license if they are used up.

It makes the user experience with C/R Protection more streamlined and pleasant to use than when i suddenly make a bios update and get the message that all my authorizations are used up and i have to send a E-Mail and wait for a reply for it to be reset.

Richard, I would LOVE to see the Proxima UI-style implemented in the other Synapse synths for the non-Reason plugin versions at least. Example: redesign Obsession's GUI so the mod matrix is front-right, there's a keyboard towards the bottom that can flip to be FX and mod-sequencers, etc.

Hehe, I had exactly the same thought! Once Proxima had reached its final UI state, I noticed it became such a breeze to design patches compared to previous parameter layouts. If we get around to redesign Obsession from scratch, we'll almost certainly want to add this or that feature though, so it'll likely be a larger project

I was a big fan of Reason rack but its restricted « real estate » for modules has been a problem with all but the simple synths. I’m glad you’ve moved from it with Proxima and hope too you « redesign » your great synths with greater freedom.

Yeah, it was a big shame they fell into the Re trap. I can understand getting more sales, but it would have been better to make they them completely separate.

I also wish all their stuff was 100% skinable

I also tried to find one since i found it stressful to have to set the plugin to a init state to compare it with my hardware within the 20 minute testing time.

Yes correct, this means simultaneous activations. So you cannot activate on 10 different computers within a day, for instance. The idea is very simple here. If 10 different users activate the same software using the same serial key on the same day, this cannot possibly be legitimate usage. Preventing this is the only purpose of the protection.

This is exactly that suspicion of your customers that they're buying into though - just above in this thread you have a legitimate customer who was caught by exactly the limit you mention while doing what you claim "cannot possibly be legitimate usage". They customer support had the same view, and they had to explain how it "could" possibly be. Luckily they were persuasive.

There is a backup server in a different country. The odds of both being down simultaneously are very slim, and if it ever happens, we would simply add a 3rd activation server.

Which is good to hear, but ongoing use of the products do depend on you continuing to pay those server costs at your own whim.

I do own multiple of your synths so I willingly buy into this relationship and consider it worth it in this case, and some others, but still, it always requires careful consideration.

If we make Proxima RE then it would be the first port we make that is indeed separate. Tbh I don't know if this is going to be feasible though. Imagine we had to make a completely new UI just for Logic/AU or the ProTools AAX version, that would be crazy.

Dune 3 is, in Proxima all UI assets can be replaced (background, knobs, etc.).

Yes.
My example made me get into issues because i decided to get the newest Hybrid cpu architecture when it was brand new.

Never had any issues or problem before that or after the Bios got mature and it stopped changing my PC ID all the time

The Decay is much shorter as the readout on the knob is showing.

My preferred way is public+private serial key signature checking, like what FabFilter and REAPER use, which don't require activation checks. That method isn't as good at stopping key sharing amongst friends, but it does completely stop keygens.

Sorry for offtopic, but you are wrong. Signature cheking doesn't stop keygens at all and can be broken trivially. It is always possible (without additional checks) generate a new public and private keys pair, sign any user data and replace the public key used for checks.
