Just a heads up from the Unify 2 presentation over at the @PlugInGuru YouTube channel (at 27.00 minutes):
The introductory price is $99 for the full version and $49 for the upgrade until November 9. After that the upgrade price will be $69 and the full version will cost $149.
Cheers,
Trahast

That is also strange, when i open older presets Guru Sampler in them, I dont see the new version of the guru sampler.
I only see guru sampler v2 when i open patches from the standard library that are tagged as "U2".
Since guru sampler is a fundamental block of Unify, I find it very strange, that the program shows it with two very different GUI.
And why can I choose between them which one to insert (v1 , v2)?
Anyone, oppinion?

That's by design, as I understand it. Version 1 and 2 of Unify are two different plugins/apps and can be used in parallel (or is concurrently?
)
The same goes for Guru Sampler. I think it's a compatibility thing. Guru Sampler v2 is different in some specific ways compared to v1, for example, the filters are different in frequency range (I think it was, and of course several other new features have been added to v2).
This means that v1 patches using Guru Sampler v1 might sound a little bit different when played using Guru Sampler v2. So the conversion from v1 to v2 is left as a conscious choice for the user. I like that.
That new patches created for Unify 2 use Guru Sampler v2 is only to be expected, don't you think? There are many new features that I'm sure the team would like to show off as much as possible.
It's a pretty long session, but this is worth the view:

Upgraded, not having used v1 for a long time, but first thing I tried (Mac M3 Pro, latest Reaper build) after playing with presets was init-ing then adding a couple of plugins in separate layers, a Serum 2 AU patch and an Omnisphere 3 AU patch. Got a lot of clicking, the usage percentage on the Serum 2 layer alone hitting 70-80.
Recreated same patch just in Reaper, all worked fine, no clicking.

That's interesting. same plugins in Unify1? Is that plugin version of Unify or standalone?
They supposedly did some work to enable multi-threading, one thread for each layer or something like that, which is an interesting idea, obviously if its clicking out for you then something is not right, what buffer setting were you using?

I was able to play Unify v1 at 16 samples buffer settings, now on v2 I'm forced to raise my buffer settings to 64 samples, or else there's pops and clicks, and this is with Unify' 2s own content. My 3rd party Plugins actually perform better.

I'm a user of Unify v1 and think it's awesome for my use case which is to layer multiple vst plugins and play them with a midi controller keyboard. No DAW needed. Add effects plugins, make synth changes and save as a patch. I'm on a budget and use freebie plugins, even ones that can't be played standalone. Unify is a very fast simple host program to jam with and can't wait to upgrade to Unify v2 once the dust settles on the new release. Amazing product from such a small team at PluginGuru.

This wasn’t standalone, it was using Unify as a plugin inside Reaper which is how I would want to use it. Haven’t tried it with Unify v1 as it’s not there now.Dewdman42 wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 2:19 am That's interesting. same plugins in Unify1? Is that plugin version of Unify or standalone?

I will try it in standalone after work plus different variations on the plugin - can’t recall which plugin version it was I got it on.

so this can multithreading you say. some Qs:
1. So one could load 4x Serum2 onto 4 different lanes/tracks, whatever it´s called, and in theory each Serum2 instance would be run on an own core on my PC ?
2. I´ve read yesterday it has audio ins. So one could also use Unify as a sub-host to load FX, running on multiple tracks/lanes, been compute on multiple cores as well ? it has multiple audio ins ?
3. can it set single plugins to oversampling, which don´t have that native ? or at least run in the whole with multisampling on ?

I don't see an vst3 FX version yet but inside a sub host like bidule it works with FX so I suspect it's coming.

PluginGuru Dev told me they have no plans to release an fx plugin version of unify as of now. Nor will they release AUmfx or au midi controlled fx. It exists only as instrument plugin and no plans for anything else
