Minimal Audio is releasing something tomorrow: "vocal resynthesis plugin". Another vocoder? Talk box? AI powered resinger like ik multimedia?

I don’t want to speak on their behalf, but Evoke seems like an FFT based harmonizer, rather than a vocoder. It looks like a great plugin with tons of useful features, but it’s not a linear predictive coding (LPC) vocoder, like Robot Rocket.Cuauhtli wrote: Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:42 am Minimal Audio is releasing something tomorrow: "vocal resynthesis plugin". We created Robot Rocket because the technique is rare and I personally love its sound. It’s my favourite digital vocoding method. I also now use Robot Rocket over the hardware, because the quality can go higher (LPC order), and because the Talker only has a mic input for the voice, which means you need severely attenuate if you’re working with already recorded audio. The mic input and attenuators also mean there’s more noise to deal with. All the magic of the Talker is digital, so using a plugin gets the result, imo.
My favourite analogue vocoder is the Ultimate VoIS, but that’s a very different sound. It’s more like a Sennheiser VSM201, using band pass filters.

Native Kontrol Standard by Native Instruments. It's what people would use to map their Native Instruments keyboards to your plugin:

Ah, right! We’re busy exploring how we get this working. No promises at this point, but a VST version would be great.Uncle E wrote: Wed Oct 01, 2025 11:55 pmNative Kontrol Standard by Native Instruments. It's what people would use to map their Native Instruments keyboards to your plugin:

totally!
Cubase just doesn't host AU at all. Can use 3rd party utilities to run AUs but it's really not ideal.

Here’s where the VST is up to. Still quite a few things to go, but it’s making the right noises.

We just released Robot Rocket 1.0.1, which fixes a couple of issues:
- Fixed an issue where automation via other plugins, like Modulator, might pick the wrong Robot Rocket parameters.
- Fixed an issue where in some locales some of the label values could overflow onto a second line.
The VST version is progressing well. I’ll be doing lots more testing today.

The VST version of Robot Rocket is out now for Windows and Mac. The same license works for all versions.
Get it here: Robot Rocket vocoder for VST and Audio Unit
We’ve also written more help, including setup guides for these apps:

Please do! There’s a 30-day free trial. Just click download to get it — it’s the same app. If it’s not licensed, it runs as fully featured for 30 days.

I’m sure you’re both aware of this, but I’ll say it anyway: We have no control over taxes that need to be paid for various regions. Our payment provider adds them, and that money gets sent to the respective government. We just set the base price.

Quite a few people who were interested in the VST version have said they missed the launch sale, so it’s back on until 7 November 2025.
Also, of the plugin, to celebrate the release of the VST version.
