It's called Keyscape, not Keystep. And...if you go to All Directory, the four listed libraries are Omnisphere, Keyscape, Trilian and Sonic Extensions. Keyboards comes up as a category. Which is where you would expect to find a piano, right? It's not there. I'm not so stupid as to look in the Omni3 library for something I know won't be there. Anyway, Guy Rowland from VI Control has sent Spectrasonics a letter, with feedback from many other users, pointing out the many problems the new browser is creating. Thanks for your (useless) inputIvyBirds wrote: Fri Oct 24, 2025 11:26 pmLA Custom C7 Grand Piano is part of Keystep it's not going to be in the Omnisphere 3 library. But... as an experiment I tried to "find" the LA7 piano. You know, the Keyscape flagship? Like if I didn't know where a piano might be if I was a new user? I went to the All directory. I saw a listing for keyboards. Under which was piano. Which is where you would expect to find a ... piano? Is it there? Nope. The big piano is not under piano. Just first impressions, but I think the new browser is gonna have some issues.
Not sure why you think the new browser is the issue

Not sure why you think the new browser is the issueand not looking at the issues being presented. The new browser has huge drawbacks. Maybe you should find your way over to VI Control and educate yourself.
The first one is Omnisphere that is the factory library
There is another called Sonic Extensions which is a collection of additional libraries you can buy
http://shop.sonicextensions.com/
Another one is called Trilian which is another instrument Spectrasonics sells dedicated to bass sounds
https://www.spectrasonics.net/products/ ... erview.php
There is a other called Keyscape that is dedicated to keyboard instruments like piano
https://www.spectrasonics.net/products/ ... erview.php
Keyscape is full of piano sounds. Including LA Custom C7 which is sampled from a custom-modified Yamaha C7 owned by renowned Los Angeles piano technician, Jim Wilson.
Here is a video example of those sounds
If you buy any of those extra products they will also show up in your Omnisphere library, if you don't have them they won't, but the placeholder is there for them
So again you are looking for a Keyscape patch which isn't there unless you own Keyscape and have it installed
I suggest you educate yourself or ask the people at VI control why you can't find Keyscape patches in Omnisphere when you don't own Keyscape you might just educate yourself
And I am very familiar with people who don't like the new browser, I am not one of those people

Supercool. I have never approached Omnisphere this way before - I'll definitely give it a go. Thanks!

Yeah it's really cool, it will also give you ideas to make your own custom "Synths" inside of the Omnisphere framework

After spending enough time with the Omni v3, I've concluded that both the pro and con camps are right about it.
On the pro side, the content is amazing. All the new features and improvements are nice. The browsing and categorization is definitely a step up. The standalone FX rack is a great thing. Orb and Mutate are useful. The minor IU/UX improvements are a step up.
On the con side, the UI/UX improvements definitely didn't go far enough. This was by far the biggest miss and there are probably 8-10 legitimate UI/UX complaints, so no point listing them all here. Having a 4 unit limitation in a single FX rack in 2025 is just silly. And finally, it is an expensive new purchase and upgrade given all today's market options. IMO the fact that there were only minor UI/UX improvements versus a much-needed overhaul add legitimate fuel to that fire.
Based on some of the comments here and elsewhere, it seems like some of the critics are looking for a Serum/Phaseplant or Kontakt replacement. This product isn't intended to be either of those things. Instead it sits squarely in between those two. I was looking for something to bridge that gap and this does the job nicely. I enjoy working with the new Omni way more than the previous version, so overall very happy with the upgrade while acknowledging that it's simultaneously a bit of a disappointment as well.

I don't have electricity now to check, but I don't have any sonic elements and don't recall seeing a placeholder for that in Omnisphere 3, it would cause my OCD to scream.

I don't see this as a problem at all. First of all, I don't see myself ever using more than four Omni plugins in consecutive series ever because, like most people who make music, I have a long list of go-to plugins that are not going to be replaced by Omnisphere's effects. The FX rack is just icing on the cake AFAIC and I'm struggling to think of an actual use scenario where I'd actually want more than four in series. Spectrasonics is not advertising the FX rack as your new go-to mixing suite and I highly doubt anybody is buying it for that purpose. Second, if people want more than four, just add another rack - how hard is that?billinder33 wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 1:34 pm Having a 4 unit limitation in a single FX rack in 2025 is just silly.

I will purchase this update for sure soon! I have Halion 7 and other synth like Diva, Repro, Zebra, serum 2 etc. But I still think that Omnisphere is still pretty good and unique as well!

I would like to buy it, but I can't! I'm from Europe. I have an old Paypal account which I have not used for years and in the meantime I've moved to another country and of course I did not think to change my phone number on my account. The old number is not active, so I can't login to Paypal and can't create new... There is no dealer around selling boxed version... I really don't understand their business model. You must have an active and accessible Paypal account or dealer, otherwise you our out... So much money and effort spent on development, but they cannot or are reluctant to afford "normal" payment system with different payment options, which even a garage developers have. How many potential customers are they loosing?

Not sure I understand how this is a Spectrasonics issue.
It's 2025 and this is a digital product that uses the most ubiquitous, world wide, bloody "granddaddy of all granddaddy" payment systems - and you have an issue with them choosing this one?
Sorry but it is on you to ensure you can make the purchase - not anyone elses.
