(30th anniversary of its release would be in 2027.)
Isn't Z1 architecture very close to Prophecy?

I totally agree! One of my biggest gear regrets was letting go of my Trinity V3 in the early 2000's. At least this can scratch a large part of that itch now. Scrolling through the presets is already a trip for me!

I had both Trinity first and then TR-rack.
both amazing, I sampled many sounds from tr-rack, now I can finally delete them and free up SSD space.

I also had Triton Studio and Extreme, but Trinity sounded much better

I didn't want to spend money on the upgrade. In the end it wasn't too hard to pass. I've given everything a fair go now and it's just not doing it for me. The upgrade package is nice enough but there's nothing special there to temp my wallet. If I owned a Trinity I'm sure I'd be very excited to get a software version of it but I don't and I can't see myself ever wanting one either.

Yes, but it has more synthesis engines than Prophecy. It only loses the dual waveshapers.

Ok then I totally agree, that a Z1 VST would be amazing.

Bummed out to see Korg Collection 3 is in the same boat with 1 and 2 as far as the upgrade price goes.

I know it would!

I have a fully expanded Z1 right next to me here. It's a beast!

Sonic Charge (Microtonic, Synplant), Kilohearts, Xfer (Serum, LFOTool), Apisonic (Speedrum) and Audiorealism (ADM Drum machine, Bassline) are all devs that come to mind that have this licensing model. And that is why I buy from them before anyone else and buy every single thing they do. Trust goes both ways.
Xfer is not on the "good guys" list.

Would you care to elaborate?

I can install their software on all the machines I have, so far. Maybe I got something wrong. What is a "good guy"?

I see United Plugins are not on that list. I can install all their software on all my machines. I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the criteria of what constitutes a "good guy". Anyway, probably best to keep this for another thread. It wasn't my intention to derail. Sorry if I misunderstood.
IIRC, Xfer was on the list, but changed their copy protection. So they were removed from the list. For more details please read the thread i linked.

I wish they would update the MS-20 now to their new level of DSP

I never was a big fan of Z1, but I loved Prophecy.

still, I'd rather have a dedicated Z1 plugin, rather than have Z1 MOSS in Trinity or Triton.
