I am running the EmuPowerFX in Tracktion

The sound is ok but when I print to harddisk (render) it sounds like crap.
Any ideas?

have you tried exporting with "render at 1X play speed" checked?
(I don't use an emu card, that's just a wild guess!)

Yes but it was still crap, though slightly better.platinumears wrote:have you tried exporting with "render at 1X play speed" checked?

Can you describe the nature of the crap? Is it distorted as if the levels are too high? Or clicking / glitching? Or something else?

Have you tried changing the latency to a higher value when you render? Maybe above 30?

Heavily distored, even without any fx in the pluging.platinumears wrote:Can you describe the nature of the crap? Is it distorted as if the levels are too high? Or clicking / glitching? Or something else?
W/o the render at 1 speed the beats are copped just like they've been through recycle.

Are you rendering wavs or aiffs? (mac or pc btw?)
I have a vague memory of aiff export problems.. if you're rendering those, try making wavs instead..

hi i have the emu 1820m & the only way 2 render the power fx is to open the plugin then in the top right is a button that takes u in to some settings tick all the boxes in there & all will render fine
but on my old amd xp2000 pc i have probz with emu power fx as a vst so i rute to diff outs then load the fx in the patch mix then rec my trak bak into T in real time to export the trak
have u noticed any latencey probs using power fx as a vst?

No I haven't noticed any latency probs yet, but I've only been tinkering with it so maybe I will later.
