Hello,

I would love to try MTrackAlign 17.06 in Logic (v11.2.2 in Sequoia 15.6.1). Everything was properly installed and I can instantiate the ARA plug-in in Rosetta mode. I added MTrackAlign to two vocal tracks in Logic, and the waveforms for both tracks also show up in the MTrackAlign plug-in. However, whatever I try from here, the tracks never align, their timing is still a mess. :) I followed the exact steps from the Logic video on the MeldaProduction page, but I don’t hear any change in my vocals.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
Claudio

I am having a similar issue. Tracks load in Logic 11.2.2 in Rosetta, track align process begins and shows alignment in green as in the tutorial but i cannot hear the timeshift. It is as if the plugin is in Bypass.

Exactly! :)

Thanks for the reports regarding alignment of vocals in Logic Pro, we are working on this issue already, will be fixed soon.

I tried the plugin on Cubase 14 / Win 11.
I used two tracks, one recorded with a mic setup on the moving actor (lav) and one boom mic.
With SoundRadix AutoAlign Post you will get VERY tightly (phase) matched sound on both takes resulting in a bass rich and natural sound that will just add ambience to the very close mics that sounds as if only one mic was used. This way you can match the closeness of the sound in audio post during the mix by adjusting the levels of the tracks.
Unfortunately Melda's MTrackAlign does not manage to get remotely close to the effect that SoundRadix produces. Even when adjusting the parameters, a distinct phase between the two mics remains audible to my ears.

MTrackAlign is NOT for aligning phase! It's for aligning performances - double tracks etc. It doesn't care about phase at all. We'll check if that would be possible too, but I doubt it.

Ah, I see. It would be cool, if it could do that.

I've just tested MTrackAlign in Pro Tools - repeatable hard crash. I've also tested in Logic - ARA 2.0 warning dialog pops up regardless of which MTA version, ARA or non-ARA, I try to load. I cannot close the warning or see the actual plugin UI.

No worry, it's a beta. I just wan't to add my experience because Melda is listening. I've also sent directly to Melda support.
(Opinions are my own, etc.)

Update: we’ve fixed the issue where MTrackAlign wasn’t aligning in Logic Pro. Just run MPluginManager, and it will fetch the update.

Regarding the crash in Pro Tools, we’re aware of it and are working with the PT developers to resolve the issue. I’ll let you know once it’s fixed.

Thanks for the Logic fix! Works much better now. :)

The time-stretching comes with some occasional artefacts which, admittedly, aren’t too noticeable in the mix, but when listening to the edited parts in solo I still wonder if this could be improved?

How long will the introductory discount be valid?

Thanks,
Claudio

The duration of the introductory discount is usually something marketing keeps under wraps, but I think it will remain valid while MTrackAlign is in beta, which I expect to last roughly until the end of this year.

Regarding the alignment issues, could you please provide an example of what could be improved? You can write to me directly at martin@meldaproduction.com , and I’ll check it with my colleagues.
