I'm pretty sure every company that uses iLok has this permission? If you're computer dies or you lose access to it and are not able to deactivate your plugins by yourself, you click a button that sends a request to iLok, and they do something on their end that requests all of the plugin companies to deactivate your licenses so you can use them on another computer.blue monk wrote: Sat Nov 01, 2025 11:09 pm
That's where I stopped the process. Under absolutely no circumstances will I give a third party permission to deactivate my licenses. What the actual .... ?!

any company using iLok definitely does NOT need your password in order to deactivate a plugin.

So companies can deactivate any iLok license that's not on a trial timer?

I'm pretty sure they can only deactivate licenses within their own product-line ("application"). A few years ago, someone had bought, I believe it was Altiverb-licenses with stolen creditcards from Audioease, and then sold and transferred these to unknowing buyers in a Facebook Group. Those licenses was revoked by the company afterwards.cdbaksu wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 6:30 pm So companies can deactivate any iLok license that's not on a trial timer?

Looks like things are starting to heat up as we head into the Black Friday season!
Here's a unique tool called the Dealometer
https://plugindealz.com/dealometer_history.php
It's a little custom tool that measures how “hot” the plugin market deals are and turns them into an easy-to-read score. It’s tracking all the major plugin stores, so we can see when the market is getting hotter.

That would be potentially acceptable. But the information is not specific about this. I do not simply assume things. No Sonic Limits wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 6:39 pmI'm pretty sure they can only deactivate licenses within their own product-line ("application").cdbaksu wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 6:30 pm So companies can deactivate any iLok license that's not on a trial timer?
