Starring in one library doesn’t star the same patch in another one? What on earth have they done with their browser.db3 wrote: Sat Nov 01, 2025 9:55 pm I'm not sure what's going on, but it's making it even harder to audition libraries and select favourites!
Boards of Burbank is an example. I have it starred in Analog Vibes, but it also exists unstarred in Ambient Dreams.
If I select all libraries only one version is shown which is unstarred. Spectrasonics need to remove all duplicates and recount the number of unique presets.

A really cool new 'hidden' trick I just discovered in Omnisphere 3: there's now a Mix control for the granular synthesis mode. So, instead of granulating the entire signal as before, we can now blend between the original audio with the granulated one. A really cool new feature I think!

Your not getting my points. AI is not going to make or listen to patches - it can be used to listen to you and your preferences by your interactions - which presets do you end up using out of how many - tracking that information for your benefit to narrow down things in the future - you will be the one selecting presets without you having to conciously make decisions. It can also listen not just to one person, you, but to everyone, not for a once size fits all, but from the data available tailor custom presets at the individual level based on information, deduction, prediction, etc.IvyBirds wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 1:42 amThe way people lost their sh*t in this thread over an AI image of a guitar, would seem to indicate that AI is not the answerTouch The Universe wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 1:04 am Train an ai to identify so called "cookie cutter" patches - that will vary by user.
100 random people and 100 specialized people - the goal is not only to find the ones most rate highly - that is a good start - but the more interesting solution will be perhaps finding multiple veins of interest contigent upon various user personalities. I could have fun with something like that and definetliy see the potential for experimentation.
AI needs to be trained on the 1) User and 2) Collective appeal and taste and find as many useful statistical patterns as you can - get creative in the patterns - that is the fun part, just as creative as making music.
Or, go twiddle one by one in 40k patches and have 500,000 people do the same tedious, unintelligent unispired thing - decisions decisions. But, to each there own.
And the issue is the same. You will end up with the patches that the AI thinks sound awesome but they may or may not work for you, and more than likely they will skip right over patches that you would think are awesome
If you are going to use AI to pick your patches for you, you may as well have an AI to design your patches for you. That way you would at least have some unique patches
Google Gemini 2.5 Pro can already design Omnisphere 3 patches FWIW. It won't give you a preset file you can import, but it will walk you through ever detail of patch creation like a recipe
Gemini also thinks the Standout Patch is"In the Year 2049" It says it's a massive, Vangelis-inspired CS-80-style pad that perfectly demonstrates the new vintage glide modes and rich filter sound.
It also likes "Epic Analog Feelings," "Juno Resologue Lead," and "Warm Thoughts of the 80s."
Sorry, don't want to go back and forth explaining or justifying the usefulness of this idea or ai - which will plow ahead regardless of "musicians" or kvr's preferenes

Yeah, something like that, so many ideas how to implement and make use of these of ai. The scary thing anyone of us can get gtp to code this for us, right now.billinder33 wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 2:26 amA categorization AI could apply a clustering algorithm to group presets together and generate some categories that would satisfy a majority of people. XLN XO and Atlas do a similar thing today. Would be awesome if Omni had a visual preset mapper similar to XO.IvyBirds wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 1:42 am If you are going to use AI to pick your patches for you, you may as well have an AI to design your patches for you. A built-in prompt based preset generator AI would be pretty sweet as well.
Fun to imagine, but wouldn't be at the top of my feature request list.

Good question! If you select 'all directories' the categorisation options work well to find what you need. So I don't see any reason why there are unlinked, duplicate presets across libraries. A combination of preset packs and categorisation filtering is pretty much the norm without the need for duplicates.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 3:45 amStarring in one library doesn’t star the same patch in another one? Whoa. How did I not know about this. That's extremely useful. I could see moss adding this to his sample converter. Sounds like the guy in the video made a script to convert from sfz. That would be amazing. Just having the ability to quickly add multiple samples across the keyrange, even still using only single velocity, is pretty great. The granular on multi-samples is a fairly rare feature, so being able to use your own multi-samples with that now is great.

These kinds of unsupported hacks scares the h-ll of out of me. As cool as it is, all it takes is Spectrasonics doing an update and everything might break.

You could always do messing with the key range and layers - 1 layer gets 1 octave or what not. What he was doing with the code, not sure. If there was a way to auto do this, that'd be awesome.

perhaps (sigh, just perhaps) they'll take it to heart, and implement this officially. but true, this is always a risk with hacks; having them break with an official update....DrGonzo wrote: Mon Nov 03, 2025 5:47 am These kinds of unsupported hacks scares the h-ll of out of me. What this synth really needs is for all presets in the preset list to be bolded/highlighted and then whenever you select a preset it becomes unbolded/unhighlighted. I really do not have the patience to go through every preset section by section. At least with the highlight method you could see at a glance all the presets you hadn't heard.

Seems like a giant pain the ass just to shoehorn something into Omnisphere it's not intended to do.
Honestly if you are sitting on folders full of Accordion Multi-samples why would do this rather than just import them into a tool that is designed to use them?
