I understand Tracktion treats all tracks as stereo. That causes issues when panning, as panning a mono track is fundamentally different than panning a stereo track.
How can I get a true mono track (for example even when a synth, that outputs stereo, is the source)? The mono switch utility does not address the underlying issue as far as I understand or does it?
Panning (or how to get mono tracks)

That depends on what the underlying issue is. What's the underlying issue? I put a synth through a panner plugin and then through the Mono Switch utility plugin. It seems to un-pan it and make it mono. Doesn't it? What are you expecting to hear that you're not hearing?stippenstoh wrote: Tue Nov 04, 2025 11:41 am The mono switch utility does not address the underlying issue as far as I understand or does it?
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Thanks. The underlying issue is that Tracktion treats all tracks as stereo always.
But it turned out that in my case it seemed to have been a bug with the beta version of Waveform Pro I have installed, mono switch works now as intended.
