The default naming scheme for the automatic filename generation for new audio recordings is, as seen in the SETTINGS - Audio Devices - Input channel properties panel, this:
%projectdir%/%edit%_%track%_Take_%take%
Is it possible to place there a date and time string to the name?
I would wish: YYYYMMDDhhmm
automatic filename generation for new audio recordings

Not sure if there is any syntax for that exposed to the user, but so far I have found that date% at least works i.e 7Nov2025 , but it is only appended to the rendered file name and is not displayed on the actual clip in the timeline.

Seems that these are the only options we have.
It would be great to see more wildcard options for filenaming in Waveform.

Thanks a lot!
Hmm, yes, this could become polished. It would be better for archiving recordings if some time standard format would be in use which later allows to easily sort recordings by date and time, like
yyyy-mm-dd
hh:mm:ss
The current %date%_%time% produces for 27 minutes after midnight a for archiving difficult to use string: 8Nov2025_02706
Better than nothing!
I will drop a note to the developers and request to have a look at it, maybe they can improve it.
