I meant more that they all have different features and a slightly different sound.
For example, from the little I've tried them, I'd say the ob-xf sem filter sounds closer to Korg's Multipoly than it does to Oberheim's.
I'm also not sure that there's a 'typical plugin' sound when you consider VA, FM, Additive, Granular, and all the other varieties now available.
It seems some people look a gift horse in the mouth.
