re 12.3 : I cannot wait to play with "stems" & convert melody or drums to new midi track

New version of Max, v9.1, just released and comes with more ABL objects, ie more parts of Live's synths and effects, including what seems to be the drum sampler and Meld's filter and oscillator. No doubt this will go in 12.3 soon, and turn up in devices not long after.

Just picked this up.

Fantastic sequencer. A bit tricky to get your head around but it's super deep and really powerful.

LF-ARP: LFO MIDI Sequencer for Ableton Live (Max for Live) : LF-ARP is a powerful Max for Live MIDI effect designed to transform your static notes into modulated and dynamic arpeggios. It uses an LFO to generate melodic variations applied directly to the incoming MIDI notes.

so, new version of this device.. the VST3/AU version adds a full modulation system which he shows at the end of the video. those modulators are also standalone max for live devices available on his store.

Softube released a couple of Max for Live devices.
The Softube Tape and Saturation Bundle brings together four characterful and versatile tape, distortion, echo and reverb effects from Softube, carefully adapted for use in Ableton Live.

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

Interesting move for softube. Dont fancy buying them all over again, though.

For those of us that won't buy products made by developers that implement iLok, this is great.

Indeed an interesting move of Softube. Wonder if other developers will follow. It's great not to need an iLok but I appreciate way more the deep integration with Live (and Push) that comes with this kind of device. Even more interesting: It seems that those device are running on Push Standalone; at least the marketing is suggesting that:

I took advantage of the BF sale and updated from 11 to 12. Oh my! Crashes left and right. AUs are using 50-100% more cpu for the same patch on 12 vs. 11. A major step backwards. Is there a refund window?

weird. check your driver settings. apple silicon or intel? 12 and the beta version of 12 has been excellent for me since day one. apple silicon. MacOS 15.7

btw 12.3 is due out soon.

What's the advantage of this over the same Softube plugins? Discounted for the same licenses?

Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

Post

I have an Intel Macbook Pro. Korg synths, Dune 3, and Diva all use notably more CPU with 12 vs.11. Serum 2 is better by about 15% with 12 though.

I requested a refund/license withdrawal from Ableton. I don’t want to wait for a promise of a fix.
