The global preference is used to initialize the Auto Scroll setting for new time lines and new clips.
Isn't that ok?
Would you and most other users want a single global Auto Scroll preference that affects *all* editors also of other projects? Maybe a single global Auto Scroll for Time Line, a single global Auto Scroll per clip type, ...
Just asking the question for now.
I'm not gonna change it in M10.1. (for time management reasons)
Will give it some time for users to respond.
Maybe then changing it on M10.2 or later...
Lets exchange thoughts first.

Tbh, I don't use AutoScroll and never will, I like to have control of the timeline, personally, I don't actually see any point in it, it just gets in the way when you're trying to edit something, as was just pointed out! But for some reason every audio and video editor seems to have this annoying feature! But hey, that's just my opinion!
I can see it being used for video editing, where scrubbing to check sync of audio/video, but I just don't see why it is used in audio production? Maybe because I'm not a pro and never been shown it's merits!
For those that use it, that is probably the best way. So no need to change anything. It's just an annoyance for those of us that don't want it because you go to global preferences and turn it off and for all previous projects, it stays active. Until you realise that it also gets saved per project, clip or whatever.

i'd like a button or shortcut for every type of clip, to be able to set it on/off on the fly
-if i understand correct, now i can only set it on or off globally, and only in the preferences

It already exists: Goto MuLab menu -> Shortcuts -> Generic -> Auto Scroll and map your preferred key.tiger001 wrote: Mon Nov 03, 2025 8:50 am i'd like a button or shortcut for every type of clip, to be able to set it on/off on the fly

Sorry, I've got to ask again. I'm not finding a way to have the MuLab 10.1.20 demo be full screen over Windows bottom taskbar. I'm at 1920x1080.MuTools wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 1:49 pmThe next MuLab 10.0.47 update will have such option. In the current MuLab 10.0.46 there already are some other options and if you're on a 1920x1080 screen you can already use "Size FHD 1920x1080". But the next M10.0.47 will have an explicit "Full Screen" option too.Teksonik wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 1:26 pm Yes I'd like MuLab to go over the bottom taskbar without having to use the Windows auto hide function.

Right-click the project window buttons at the top right, or right-click the project window border. Both ways popup the window context menu, there choose Full Screen.
