Do you mind to check my video, where I compare exactly that: Arp from Logic Pro and BlueArp. I watched the YouTube video and did the same, but only Logics Arp gets recorded while BlueArp just creates an empty midi region. Nothing inside.

Maybe I am just missing an important point. :!:

Trying to use Famous Arps & Basses v1.2 for BlueARP by Opax. The file format is *.fxb. But BlueArp requests a *.fxp so I can't load the banks. I re-named the file format to a p, but then BlueArp gives the error message.

How can I get use these banks?

That's strange, I don't know why it isn't working. As an alternative, you could try recording the MIDI using the plugin MIDI FX Freeze: http://www.audiocr.com/

I'm stuck on an old version of Logic and MacOS, so I can't repeat what you're doing as the MIDI record functionality isn't available to me, but the above plugin does work with BlueARP in my testing.

Sorry, it's my mistake. Everything works))

BlueARP update v2.8.3
https://omg-instruments.com/wp/?page_id=46

It is a bugfix release, no major changes or new features. I was mostly polishing BlueARP DM and some bugs I found are relevant for both plugin and the hardware.
Changelog:
--- BlueARP v2.8.3 / 23-Nov-2025 (patch format ver = 20) ---
1. BugFix: When you set the input quantize to "none" the chain variations no longer work
2. BugFix: for example you have Chain1/Var1 triggered by Gsus2 chord, when you hold Gsus2, switch to other chain and
then back to Chain1, it doesn't trigger Var1
3. Stuck notes for MIDI Thru dummy program with steps=0 (simple thru) and latch on, when pressding the same note
twice, it gets stuck, at least with Roland SC88 which seems to treat double notes and separate sounds.
4. BugFix: 'restart chain on switch' param didn't work in versions 2.8.0 and 2.8.1
5. Input range filter added for the 'arp, fixed' operation mode

Also important: updated user manual, enhanced the Guitar and Drum mode descriptions, added description for the Fixed arp mode. Direct link to the manual:

Amazing, thank you very much. I hope 2026 is the year BlueArp goes Linux :)

Yep, according to my plans, I hope to release BlueARP for Linux in 2026. The 1st format to implement will be CLAP, I'm already trying to implement CLAP for Windows first. This requires lots of manual work, cause I use older version of IPlug (and highly modified). They already added CLAP support to the latest iPlug2, but I can't use it directly, I have to incorporate that code malually.
But that's all doable, I don't see any 'show-stopper' things, only that it will take some time

A new tutorial on how to set up BlueARP in REAPER

A question to REAPER users: Does the method No1 I describe (using track FX) ever worked for you with BlueARP or any other midi arp? REAPER kind of baffled me here. I thought track FX should be applied live on playback, and the recorded track should be unaffected by them. But this was not the case. I tried to find the setting which will set track FX as 'pre-track' or 'post-track' like will it be applied before recording notes to the track (i.e. during recording) or after (during playback), but I didn't find such a setting. In my case it records the output from the arp, not the original chords. It can be fixed with method 2 (BlueARP on a separate track), but what's the point of track FX then?

Track FX is always post, There are insert FX which instead are pre-track (they "print" themselves on the recording).

If you are getting the arp notes recorded maybe you are setting the wrong record mode ("Record output")?

I have "Record input" there in the right-click menu. But for some reason it does the same as when I set it to "Record output", always records the output from the arp. So to me looks like this is how REAPER behaves, it is only unclear then why Record input/output setting doesn't change anything here.

Maybe you have another BlueARP instance as Input FX beside Track FX... :)

Yep, this was SO counter intuitive to me, but this way it works and this is probably the fastest way. You need just to press the FX button (where the synth GUI is), add BlueARP there and drag it to place it over the synth (= before the synth in the chain)

But the method I have in the video works as well, so I will at least reflect this method in the manual and maybe later make an updated video.

Would something like this be possible with BlueArp? (skip to 2:46)

In this video i use a Reason Rack Extension to turn polyphonic MIDI into monophonic. Longer bass notes get suppressed and retrigger as soon as the higher notes play or stop. Then a second Rack Extension sets up an arpeggio that only reacts to the lower-note range.
The result is a super quick and easy way to program arps with a "custom" topline melody. I find that really practical. I built something similar in Bitwig a while ago, and it worked pretty well, too.

I think having a feature like this in BlueArp would be really nice.

Hi. If you didn't yet figure it out yourself, you should go MENU (button) -> Bank -> Load from file.
fxp is for single programs, fxb is for banks.
PS. These formats are VST2 legacy, but I keep them for backwards compatibility.
